The main thing that stops this tablet beung usable as a laptop replacment is the otg charging.

 

I can use a bluetooth mouse but they kind suck with cpu lag, sometimes to a degree of waiting a minute or 2 for it to reattach. Might be the cheap mouse, dunno.

I can’t get my card to work well at all anymore, running the default drivers now but bleh. It just crashes the card reader, or goes to 0.01 write speed after writing about 50mb of files onto it. It does see the 64gb cards though.

 

I’ll be patient and await an update from Teclast instead of toying with it more though.

The fail to start for SD Cards (error 10) is kinda a driver issue, but I’m yet to find a driver to solve it that doesn’t completely bugger up write speeds.

Just requested to cancel the chewi hi12 order. I would prefer the USB full interface, but the extra weight etc doesn’t seem worth it.

 

I think if I buy another tablet I’ll get this UK Offer on the surface pro 3, with keyboard and stylus for 390£. But for now i’m rather happy with my x98 plus.

 

Hopefully someone will figure out the write speed issue on the eMMC drive tho.

Aye sadly a very well known issue for a large variety of tablets,

I spent ages trying to update a Linx 7″ the other month. Although the lack of OTG Charging with a USB Drive at the same time makes it even more annoying on the x98 plus.

I do like my x98, I just want more of a laptop hybrid over a tablet and think the Hi12 would fit that better, mainly due to the full sized USB ports.

Not been able to charge while using a USB port is a major negative for me. Also the offer you posted was just too good to resist, £137 it charged my bank (<3 international fee free mastercard).

I just ordered the Hi12 as well, damn you Rene I really can’t afford it 🙁

 

I put it on my Mastercard tho, hopefully I can sell the x98 plus with it’s case for $200 on facebook to pay for it.
