Hi you also have to realise that camera for the teclast x98 pro is is on the left hand side of the screen and the camera for the ipad is in the middle of the screen, so if you buy the a screen protector for ipad the camera of the tclast x98 pro will be covered. Also i have found this screen protector for the teclast x98 2 which will fit the teclast x98 pro becuase the size of the screen is the same for both tablets, the price in £GBP is £5.89 (ou get two screen protectors in the pack), but the item is located in Germany and it will take about a week to come if you live in the UK. I have also found another screen protector for £0.99, but the only problem is the screen protector is located in Hong Kong so it will take about a month to deliver. I bought the screen protector referenced above from Germany and can confirm that they are very good for the price.
I was considering ordering a tempered glass protector from China but decided I needed one sooner rather than later – perhaps a month later.
October 27, 2015 at 2:31 pm #14318Happy to help…when I first received my X98 Pro, I attached my phone charger without thinking…and the battery started to deplete…I then quickly realised the 160 mAh output of the phone charger would be woefully inadequate for the very particular requirements of the X98’s 8000 mAh battery.
October 27, 2015 at 2:20 pm #14316I am confident that will correct it. I never really concerned myself with how important the correct output charger and cable was until I received my X98 Pro!
October 27, 2015 at 2:10 pm #14314Check the output amperage of your Asus charger. If it is not in the region of 2.0+A, it will probably be insufficient to charge the battery. A standard mobile phone charger will almost certainly be insufficient. In addition, use the supplied USB cable as it has an AWG rating of 22 – which is important as it is intended for higher output chargers.
The supplied charger/cable is the best one to use – even if it is the 2 pin variety – can you not use an adapter?
October 27, 2015 at 9:52 am #14292Have you tried charging it with the original supplied charger?

October 26, 2015 at 12:47 pm #14181Does the battery charge when the tablet is off?
October 26, 2015 at 8:47 am #14161Hi Andrew
How did you reset the tablet?
October 25, 2015 at 3:16 pm #14124I followed the suggestion of SEN above and I am pleased to report that the battery seems to be operating better than ever. I have been using it on and off since 07:30 and it still has 54% remaining.
October 24, 2015 at 6:40 pm #14080I will give that a try. At the moment it is still discharging. It has been over 5 hours now. Restoring Android definitely seems to have had an effect on the battery.
October 24, 2015 at 4:41 pm #14076I decided to perform an Android reset. That was at 14:50. I have since been discharging the battery and it still has over 1 hour 32 minutes left! That would give me in excess of 4 hours…a significant improvement over the 1 hour I had prior to the restore.
October 23, 2015 at 8:18 am #13981Okay I have this issue on my new K9C6, I plugged in a USB drive via OTG and it killed the tablet. Took forever to get it to finally boot on again, I think it’s related to the bad battery life in Android, because when it powered off, the battery was 35% in Android, but after the crash 45% so the battery calibration is messed up. I saw this happen on the X98 Air 3G with daul boot systems, but no crashes. It’s not good, so far my K9C6 is more unstable than my K9C3 when it was Windows only. I think the dual boot bios is to blame here. I’m going to check and see if my K9C3 will do it now as a converted dual boot. This is not good at all, Teclast I hope are aware and we are going to need a fix for this. A new bios or an update at least asap. I’ll try your fix, but its battery/power related. But I think it’s not hardware related as my X98 Pro K9C3 (first model) never did this is 3 weeks of use.
I had the same issue but in Windows – connecting my phone via a OTG cable. I am going to try it in Android later today.
October 22, 2015 at 1:14 pm #13930Hi Dennis
Thanks for the information!
I have been reading about other tablet owners (Nexus 7) whose devices shut down after connecting an OTG cable – they tried a different cable and there was no problem. I intend to try the OTG cable supplied with the X98 Pro when I return home.
October 22, 2015 at 9:52 am #13918Hi Dennis
That is useful to know. Thanks. Is there a way to circumvent this from happening? Are you now able to attach your phone to your X98 without it shutting down?
Also, is it safe to use a 3A charger for a device that comes with – in my case – a 2.5A charger?
October 22, 2015 at 8:15 am #13909Hi Dennis
Thank-you for the response. 2 questions:
- Where did you buy a 3A charger from and is it genuine?
- Why does the tablet “dip” its output voltage when a phone is connected to it?
I must add that until the incident yesterday, I didn’t experience any charging issues.
