Mine does this also.
Fine on charger.
Battery was 61% off charger, plugged in usb 3.0 memory stick l. Black screen shutdown.
Had to reconnect charger to get to turn on.
Rebooted and battery still 61%.
Really weird.
December 30, 2015 at 1:47 pm #20555Well, thank you, sadly, that makes me feel better that I’m not the only one haha.
I will monitor it, and if it keeps going off at 61% I will return it. I am not putting up with a faulty product I paid so much for. Did you buy yours from Geekbuying as well?
December 30, 2015 at 1:53 pm #20556Mine came from a seller on ebay uk.
Unwanted Christmas present.
Think that’s must be why it was unwanted!
Hope it’s just a firmware update problem .
Does yours reboot when a hard drive is plugged in in battery?
December 30, 2015 at 8:20 pm #20607Yeah, definitely why it was unwanted. I updated mine, all my drivers, and it’s still doing it, plus I now have things like this happeninhg and I have no clue what it is:
Screen looks corrupted. Shuts down whenever for whatever reason. Fixes itself then goes back to corrupt screen and turning off. Has a lag when turning back on after turning off suddenly. Won’t turn back on without being plugged into the charger. I’ve attached some files, and if someone could give me some advice: I want my money back, should I return the tablet because it’s obviously faulty?

The screen should never look like that.
I would open a claim with PayPal.
Mines fine with any usb 3.0 device just not my portable hard drive.
Not sure if the port can give enough power to power my hard drive.
Need to see if others have the same troubles.
December 30, 2015 at 9:09 pm #20616Thanks so much for your help and talking to me about it. It’s been really hard and stressful dealing with it so a talk was nice haha. 🙂
I have opened emails with them (GeekBuying) and I’m waiting for a response from them about a full refund. I don’t know if they will but I’ll be sure to let you know whats up with it. It does it every now and then with that screen thing. Well I’m hoping they fix it soon.
January 2, 2016 at 9:25 pm #21012I can also confirm this issue with my Hi10,seems like it happens when i stress the GPU.
Try playing 4K, it shuts down
some 3d games makes it shut down.
sometimes randomly, but every time i try 4K
very hard to reboot, like stated above i also need to plug in the charger to revive it.
Mine was bought on ALI, VC MALL, it is the 64Bit 4GB confirmed version.
I also updated all the drivers with driver booster, no changes.
i have sent an email to service department at Chuwi, i will post their response here.
January 2, 2016 at 9:38 pm #21016Here is a link demonstrating the issue, it will happen 100percent of the time i try 4K…. so it seems it is a GPU or power failure issue going on.
test with only battery

and seems like it plays alittle longer with the backlight down
test with only battery

Tested with powercord while charging ( Everything works fine )
So it seems to me it has a very bad power supply design.

Unfortunately is this generic response, they give exactly the same response about other issue…
January 3, 2016 at 12:10 pm #21068Yeah i am afraid that may be the case.
I am also waiting for response from Chuwi factory, i love to hear what they have to say about this issue.
January 3, 2016 at 6:38 pm #21104Edge browser is capable of rendering flawless 4K. But Chrome or even VLC or MPV are not capable of rendering 4k without massive frame dropping.
Why?
January 3, 2016 at 9:00 pm #21124yeah, i would love to know that as well.
i would guess chrome, firefox etc dont use hw acceleration in some circumstances or it may be the fact that the browser forces use of html5.
for chrome try h264ify extension, could help
