Is there anyway to enable Windows update?
November 24, 2015 at 6:09 am #16517November 30, 2015 at 10:17 am #17080Is this the windows only version I take it?
I see most of the benches are close to the 3735F’s except a slight increase on the icestorm 3D. I suspect the main advantage of the 8300 is that it will game faster – but possibly hotter.
It would be interesting to see how this model games. It is, at the time of writing this, the only real game in town ATM regarding decent 8 inch cherry trails.
December 1, 2015 at 8:56 am #17175Hey guys,
I’ve received my Tablet 2 days ago. The box was opened and there was an account already logged in. Text was in English, however there were a couple of apps still in chinese and all in all I just wanted to perform a clean install.
Which, looking back, wasn’t one of my best ideas. Now I don’t have any drivers and my Device-Manager is filled with unknown devices. The buttons don’t work, the touchscreen is not responding, Bluetooth and wifi don’t work, accellorometer and even the battery is not detected.
Sooo, long story short: Does anyone have an idea where I can get drivers OR maybe even copy their drivers via double driver or anything like that?
Cheers
December 2, 2015 at 12:35 pm #17313Just a quick update: I managed to get the Intel and kionix drivers running so wifi, bluetooth and rotation are up and running, however the touchscreen is still not responding, as well as battery detection and camera support.
@chris maybe you have an idea where I can get the drivers?oh and the unknown devices in the device manager are:
- ISP Camera device
- PCI-Data and signal something i can’t translate into english on the spot
- PCI-Ver-/decodingcontroller (?)

Edit: I used the Iwork 8 drivers (Win 8) from the download section, however, the touchscreen and battery are still not working.. It would really help if someone could copy their drivers because I’m running out of ideas over here 😀

However, Windows says there is no battery inserted but other than that it works.
IF, and thats a big if, you find yourself in a Situation where you have absolutely nothing else to do, could I bother you to maybe create an .iso of your Tab?
December 4, 2015 at 1:07 pm #17546Second that notion, I cannot believe i am not the only person in this boat! I have just received mine and didnt trust the standard install for fears of unwanted spyware/malware so out of the box i tried to do a restore………..long and short it bootlooped permanently. So I did fresh install and cleared partitions, got it to install and now cant get ANY of the drivers to install. If you could tell me which drivers you used it would be massively appreciated. Thinking if i can at least get wifi can then get windows to search for them. FYI I am a bit of a tinkerer and had taken the back off this too, most notably because the usb on the device is TERRIBLE it is clearly a faulty connector but the cost of posting back makes it prohibitive for me to claim under warranty.
Taking the back off revealed there is NO heatsink on this at all. There is a stick (yes a black sticker) with a small piece of wire foam doing a half hearted job of connecting to silver foil on the case. So do not be surprised to see massive throttling on the unit. If wanted happy to take picture and show inside. I have also de-soldered the battery and installed a 4000mAh variant. I had a quick look on ebay and fairly sure a 6000mAh would also fit in what is quite a large space.
December 4, 2015 at 5:58 pm #17606ACPI battery driver issue I think if it’s not showing. I’m pushed for time as I’m due to fly to London on Tuesday. I’m not taking many tablets with me to NZ.
The Cube iwork8 does throttle. Got it to 85 degrees in 3Dmark11 benchmark. Overall my time using it the tablet does run okay, screen look good, but it’s a very cool white almost blue in whites when the brightness is low.
The touch is accurate. Just gaming will suffer later with the throttling it has.
It’s okay for the $80-$90 price tag it has, be interesting to see how the CHuwi Hi8 Pro handles the heat.
Those drivers should have restored everything, did you use doubledriver 4 to restore it? That might help if you missed one doing it manually.

I haven’t really had a chance to play around with it a lot because I screwed up on the Windows install, but my first impression was pretty good, especially with that pricetag.
@antony-white Well, the way I restored the drivers was I just went to the device manager and updated them one by one (hooked up an USB hub via the OTG and used a USB keyboard because the touchscreen and wifi were not working at that point). But I guess using Double Driver is the better option.Would be great if you could show a couple pictures of the inside, I’d appreciate that, especially upgrading the battery might be a worthy investment along the line.

me again..
I googled and googled trying to fix the battery detection but I still couldn’t find a way to have the tablet detect the Battery.. I installed the drivers one by one again, and it finally worked. Battery detection working now. That being said, I hope one of you guys could provide a working .iso of the tablet. Thanks,
Moritz
Edit: Another question: Do you think it would be possible and practical to put in a working heatsink?
