April 18, 2016 at 6:18 pm #34144From another post of mine:
I managed to install the 1511 update after alot of tries, so I hope this works for you as well (do at your own risk)
First of all make sure you have full battery as the update most likely will drain it and might fail.
Connect either a big TF card, or a USB stick with lots of storage (32GB preffered)When the update starts, it tells you there is not enough space, and asks if you want to use external storage with 10GB free.
Choose that option and click on Refresh. You ll get a message telling you that you need an extra XXX amount on your internal storage (which you most likely dont have yet even after you ve tried Disk Cleanup)
The most space on the partition is taken by the Windows folder, and in particular Winsxs folder and the SoftwareDistribution folder.
1. First thing to try is to delete the SoftwareDistribution folder(It saved me 3GB of space). That should give you enough room to start the install2. If it fails, next step is to dissable the Virtual Memory.
* Go to System->Advanced Settings->Advanced->Performance->Advanced->Change
* Uncheck the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives then click on “No Paging File” and click on Set
*Reboot
(this should probably save you another GB of space)3. If you still dont have enough space, we ll try to use a method back from the early 2000’s
Right click on your c: drive -> Properties and on the General Tab click on “Compress this drive to save disk space” and click ApplyThose should probably be enough to get the install going
ps. To save time from downloading the update all the time, this trick might save you a little effort. Once the update is downloaded , and it has started , you ll se a hidden folder (enable view of hidden files and folders and protected OS files) called $Windows-BT or something similar which should be around 3.5GB.
Copy that folder to your TF card or USB stick , and instead of starting the update from Windows Update, simply go to that saved folder and click on Setup. The update will startApril 18, 2016 at 6:54 pm #34157Hi Dood thx for your answer, i will try everything u said. Now im compresing my hard disk, hope it works.
April 18, 2016 at 7:42 pm #34167Btw SoftwareDistribution is just 9mb for me? sure its 3Gb? or u r talking about Winsx ?
April 19, 2016 at 6:09 am #34209oh I finally see that screen that allows u to use external drive. (I clicked on the fix button, in windows update screen, 1st time I’ve seen it in all my attempts).
downloading as I type, hope it works out.
–update–
failed and its now asking for 8.4 gb lol
April 19, 2016 at 10:28 am #34243Software Distribution is a new way for Microsoft to pass on the Update files. When you have software distribution on in your settings, it saves all your downloaded update install files, and uses P2P to send them to other people. On my case, apart from the oversized Winsxs , I had a huge SoftwareDistribution folder as well.
There s a way to turn it off, but since in my case it had already taken up so much space, I just deleted the folder and moved on with the InstalationApril 19, 2016 at 1:01 pm #34263Well now it works.
I did a reset. And i use the ISO Stuff, make sure dood u downloaded the last versión of the Windows. I had 5.4Gb left and windows let me install anyway.
Take hours, but now its updated 🙂

Idk why it doesn’t work for me. Did u use media creation tool for your USB Iso? I tried that and rufus, both didn’t work. Just wondering why mine keeps saying not enough space. Mine is definitely the latest, cos I did a clean install and it was new build.
Clean install is prob the way to go for me, just need to go back and check some drivers which didn’t install.
April 19, 2016 at 4:10 pm #342833. If you still dont have enough space, we ll try to use a method back from the early 2000’s Right click on your c: drive -> Properties and on the General Tab click on “Compress this drive to save disk space” and click Apply

Right click on your c: drive -> Properties and on the General Tab click on “Compress this drive to save disk space” and click ApplyU can try that.
I get the same thing, that i was needing alot of Gb more, but i compress the unit and it works. How much space u have now?
April 19, 2016 at 5:08 pm #34288After Windows Update get complete, my MicroSD reader, stop working, now its gets loading 4ever, and in another pc its working normal. Also in Android works normal. Of course i format it, but still dont works. Any ideas how make this works?
April 20, 2016 at 6:06 am #34359Trying to free up space was a nightmare!
I finally did a clean install and everything is working. Even tho the sdo sensor v2 didn’t install, touch and rotation seems to work fine. Most drivers from backup installed except for a few.
Some notes to save time during clean install,
-make a driver backup and then copy that to your usb drive too
-u need the c:\nuvoton folder for the sound setup so copy that too.
-There is a new version of the kionix driver from their website which installed fine
-backup the wintoandroid program, I forgot, so now I just reboot and choose from the white Android/Windows screen.April 20, 2016 at 10:56 am #34378Dunno, i dint installed any driver. But seems working alright. Except but the MicroUSB Reader. Its just dont working in Windows, and for sure i enabled that option from Bios. But just dont read, i just see the icon, but cant explorer him.
April 20, 2016 at 3:27 pm #34436Are you sure the BIOS setting is still on?
I ve noticed that sometimes when my Tablet fails to boot, the BIOS resets (I guess its a similar option desktop PC’s have to protect from overclocking failure).
More than a few times I had to set the settings in my BIOS and boot properly for them to stay set.
Other than that…my Cube that the issue most CherryTrails have with the SD card adapter not being able to see some SD Cards. My 16GB Kingston works great, but my 64GB Adata crashes it.April 22, 2016 at 9:04 am #34629wow I was on android and battery went down to 10% and while I was charging it, it sort of died, black screen. After all that effort getting windows updated and stuff. pfft.
–update–
the hdmi connection finally started working after trying few hours to turn it on. the touch on tablet is also working, just the tablet screen is not showing. still black screened after almost a week. have sent an email to banggood, anyone know what are the options available?April 26, 2016 at 8:00 pm #35204Are all the bugs fixed? It’s kinda cheap right now and I might want to get one as well.
