Are all the bugs fixed? It’s kinda cheap right now and I might want to get one as well.
I wanted an 8inch tablet and I bought this recently. Well its been a bad experience. The charger died on 1st day of charging, lucky I had other chargers. The screen died after 1-2 weeks, works only with external monitor now and the android cannot be rooted (which is a moot point now that its blackscreened).
My advice is look at other options.
May 5, 2016 at 8:17 am #36132wow I was on android and battery went down to 10% and while I was charging it, it sort of died, black screen. After all that effort getting windows updated and stuff. pfft.
–update–
the hdmi connection finally started working after trying few hours to turn it on. the touch on tablet is also working, just the tablet screen is not showing. still black screened after almost a week. have sent an email to banggood, anyone know what are the options available?Have you tried looking inside in case its just a moved cable or something?
Usually for screens to go black, its either the power cable to the screen power PCB, the screen cable itself, or the power PCB being fried. First 2 are easily fixable and the third not really. If you want help opening your tablet let me know. I haven’t noticed anything that would show if you popped the back cover to take a look, but I cant really promise you that there s nothing, so do at your own risk.May 7, 2016 at 5:10 am #36330Have you tried looking inside in case its just a moved cable or something? I’m not a hardware techie, so I really can’t tell. Opening up the tablet is prob as far as I can get. Will attach the pic if anyone would b kind enough to have a look. The tablet still works with external monitor, so don’t think the power thingy is fried.
The closeup shot is the only loose item on the tablet, the other is just a full view. Anything looks out of place?

Unless u live in Singapore, the postage is a big deterrent. So ty, but no.
Banggood has offered to replace if I return my spoilt set but looking at postage cost so far, it is unlikely to happen.
May 16, 2016 at 4:15 am #37496Just wanted to post it here too. I recently tried to use this (link below) to repartition the android and it works!
http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/resize-android-partition-the-easy-way-for-x98-serie/
how to:
copy the gpt_4gb file (or some similar name, not at pc atm, rename it to gpt.bin) to the android flashing directory and replace existing (or rename existing if u want the original backed up), flash the tablet as per normal, it will allow android updates and still have enough for windows to complete the 1511 update. I tried 2 gb but the android updates failed so don’t waste time on that.
now all we need is root.

I am practically not using mine anymore (have a Surface pro now), so if you are interested..it also depends on your location due to taxes. I live in the EU, let me know.
May 16, 2016 at 4:57 pm #37567Hey guys, I’ve been thinking of buying one of those heatsinks:
Just a standard 20mmx20mmx1mm thin copper pads, using thermal paste to “glue” them to the components. What do the pros here think? 🙂 thank you
May 16, 2016 at 8:13 pm #37586Maybe I could try the non-ultimate version. On geekbuying it’s at like $79.99 right now. A very good deal imho.
May 17, 2016 at 6:54 am #37644I have a great idea for cooling:
Cut the thermal cooling pad just like the original sticker to fit and stick a copper metal sheet or two to it.
What do you guys think?
