Hallo. Today i bought a new 2242 ssd (trancend mt420s 120gb) and the problem is that when trying to format the disk in order to show in the windows explorer the format procedure takes too long(quick format is ticked). What is happening?

I left it fromat for at least 1 hour. The ssd is recognised by the laptop but it does not format!

Do you know what ssds are compatible?

Buying proper SSD fixes the problem

Believe me, I tried a lot of things, but only buying normal SSD works. KingSpec does not work, and I heard Transcend does not work either.

Transcend didn’t work for me either. Also ADATA does not work… will go for Samsung 2280 today

Maybe you were just lucky? I have confirmed just today that Intel SSD 540s 180GB M.2 SSDSCKKW180H6 has issues too. Is it “normal” SSD compared to 545S you bought?
