It says they started shipping mine earlier today, hopefully its not a fake tracking number.
December 17, 2015 at 8:21 pm #19003In defense of the stores that are selling the tablets : the sellers are not in control of Chinese customs, just like you are not in control of your local customs service (unless you work there yourself). Keep in mind that the packages get handed over to customs for inspection or whatever the hell they do down there with our stuff. After they’re done with it (however long that takes), it’ll get shipped to us with whatever courier you’ve selected to use… So the tracking information only gets added into the system AFTER your package cleared Chinese customs.
December 17, 2015 at 9:59 pm #19011I ordered from VCmall too.Received tracking like a week ago or something like that,i contacted them yesterday about tracking and they said to wait 2 days.I just checked the tracking and it is live now.So ye,not fake tracking number, but i really had to wait like a week till it activated.Patiance guys 😉

It should not take much longer than 30-60 min from the time a parcel is prossesd until you can track the specific parcel.
If shipment is really sent you should be able to see at least “electronic information received” at dhl website. This mean shipment is booked for pickup but not yet processed at sorting facility.

A week for a tracking event to give a result? If a parcel is processed at a sorting facility it will show in DHL website within an hour at most times (lets say a few hours to be on the safe side).
I work at DHL although with domestic road transport in Sweden but our systems works pretty much the same way as DHL Express system does when it comes to tracking shipments.
December 18, 2015 at 5:47 pm #19087Thanks for sharing your insight 🙂 Do you know that it is posible for VC mail, or any other sender for that matter, to send me a tracking number even before DHL can track that number? (Or do you think that they fake the number)
Thanks once again!
December 18, 2015 at 6:04 pm #19088@evil E Did you use DHL via vc leomon? and thanks for responding, aswell thanks to @Mikael Moberg
Yes, that’s correct.
At this moment my DHL tracking number is still not showing up in the DHL tracking system, so I know that my shipment is still in the Chinese customs offices or depot for inspection. I also know from DHL that my tracking number is a VALID number (they have some kind of checksum algorythm in it so that DHL can validate them). What you say is contradictionary to what @Evil E. says. who of you is right? a week via dhl or 30 minutes.
Not necessarily… Mikael Moberg said (and I quote) “from the time a parcel is prossesd”. I think that he means “from the time a package has been processed AND RELEASED by Chinese customs” it takes 30-60 minutes for the tracking number to show up in the system. That could be right (although I cannot confirm this because I don’t work at DHL). But it still means that Chinese customs can hold your package as long as they want/need to before they release it (that being a week or possibly even longer).
(@Mikael Moberg : please correct me if I misunderstood your statement)And let’s not forget that we’re smack in the middle of the end-of-year holiday sales period, so sales figures are significantly higher than normal (with all the extra delays that come with it).
December 18, 2015 at 6:06 pm #19089Those who have received this tablet, are you using a screen protector and by chance have you found a good tempered glass one?
December 18, 2015 at 6:35 pm #19094@Evil E: No you did not misunderstood me 🙂
Once its in the hands of DHL stuff will happen faster than lightning 😉
December 18, 2015 at 7:09 pm #19097Aliexpress has 2 sellers that offer tempered glass screen protectors for the Hi10 : see here
Make sure you check out one of these 2 product pages, there is a warning with some pictures in there that you may want to see. Apparently the Hi10 screen is not completely flat, but concave… Check out the accompanying photos that show the air bubbles trapped below the screen protector… 😮
So you might want to think twice about applying a tempered glass screen protector to the tablet… -
