I won’t be closing anything. If someone has trouble reading 10 pages, it’s pretty sad. I’ve seen threads on RCgroups run into the thousands of pages! Start your own threads by all means 🙂
February 16, 2016 at 8:48 am #26118OK, I started a dedicated thread for the slow write speeds discussion should y’all want to move the slow emmc talk over there.
As for X98 Plus tips and tricks, bring ’em on! Show me something cool.
In case some folks missed it, a few days ago I posted an easy way to recover 750MB.

Thanks for starting the new thread Alexandra. It should keep this thread on topic instead of whiners saying “WE” want to close the thread because it has 10 pages… lol.

I will update the OP in the next few days to reflect the new dual system and some new posts in the thread. I was not a fan of the unsigned driver hack for the SD cards, so I didn’t add it to the OP and I was proved right, not a good idea IMHO.
A good fast 16 Gb or 32 Gb card is problem free…. sad but true. More info on good cards that work well is being posted in another thread.

February 20, 2016 at 8:58 pm #26549Hi all!
Another new user here. I received it yesterday, android was full of bloatware, lets hope another more stock rom is installable. Referring to win10 everything seemed ok but wifi didn’t connect. I extracted my win10 key and did the backup of the drivers. Now I’m restoring win10 but it has been stucked in 55% for an hour or so. Before this it was flawless. Is this normal? Should I start to think about a state 0 installation?
Thanks a lot!
February 21, 2016 at 10:47 am #26607It takes a good couple hours to reset Windows 10 on these things. Use the time to study a foreign language.
February 21, 2016 at 6:24 pm #26613yep, everything worked well and now I have win10 really great. Now I’m going to install a custom rom for android I saw on xda. Do you know how to resize the partitions so I can have more space in the win10 one? One thing that is really bad about the tablet is that it doesn’t support an wifi but is a good deal for the price.
Oh! One more thing, regarding stylus, do you know any good stylus? Will it work as in the surface(really detailed) or as in the ipad(poor detailed)?
February 28, 2016 at 5:20 pm #27418Good day.
Sorry for my bad English. I use the Google Translator.
___I also have the Teclast x98Plus. I am very pleased.
My biggest problem is the lack of support for SDXC cards.
SDHC is not a problem.
In Device Manager, I have no error.
The replacement of the Windows 8.1 files to the SD reader brought no success. A connected USB storage does not make any problems, even at 128GB. However, here the stick is recognized as HDD.
Now I have downloaded the installation files in December 2015 from geekbuying (from 02/25/2016). However, that’s a pretty big effort and I would like to know if this SDXC problem is eliminated.
Otherwise my x98Plus going very well.I have Revision “A5C8”

I don’t recomend the windows 8.1 driver hack. The solution seems to be a fast class 10 32 GB Kingston card formatted to fat32. Hopefully a driver/bios update will fix this but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for it!

Warning this fix may severely lower your read/write speeds of SD cards. However will enable all cards to work.

I’ve noticed more people having issues with SDXC cards so a more detailed guide on how I fixed this for you, if you could link this in the OP?
Step 1: download this driver and extract it to wherever you like:
(also attached to post)
Step 2: disable Driver Signature feature of Windows- http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/ The guide says press F7, but it was just number 7 for me. I forget if I used the bluetooth keyboard, or if touchscreen works in that menu. But I definitely didn’t have to plugin my normal keyboard.
Step 3: Open Device Manager, this can be found in settings or just type Device Manager in the start menu.
Now you want to replace all 3 drivers, 1 at a time.

Click the second option.

Click browse and point to where you’ve extracted the driver to.
Click next, let it install.
Do the same for the other 2 SD Host Controllers – For the second two you can click “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”, since you’ve already installed the driver. You will see this screen:

Restart your tablet and you should be able to use any microSD card formatted with whatever file system you care for.

Disclaimer: You can it seems damage microSD cards. I fragged a 32gb and 64gb card somehow while trying to get them working on the x98 plus. I’ve not fragged any since updating the drivers though. As always don’t blame me if you burn your house down etc.

Sam can you remove/edit this post. It is BAD advice and does not do anything but confuse people and clog up the thread with a useless hack.

Sorry I forgot to say 32GB card in my other post, now edited. Larger cards, depending on the brand, have various issues with either windows or android but posts have shown that Kingston 32 GB class 10 cards are problem free.

There is no help. As I posted, this tablet has issues with cards over 32 GB in windows. I have an SDXC 64 GB ADATA card and it disappears randomly. I don’t trust storage that disappears..lol. Get a 32 GB card and call it a day.
This issue will not go away until we get a fix from Teclast. People just need to accept it.
