    Follow up to my previous message; I have successfully brought up the start up screen. I held down volume + and power buttons until I saw the device was starting.

    If I remember correctly the options at the top left of the screen allow you to specify the default system. The two main buttons in the centre of the screen are for immediate start-up selection

    Hi, I am trying to remember, as it’s been a long time and I no longer have Android on my Teclast (I broke it but the Windows 10 still runs well ?.

    I believe it is a either a combination of volume + power or housing down the power button for longer than usual – it should give you a graphic bootloader type screen offering one system or the other.

    I’ll check later when I charge my Teclast, although u broke the system the loader still works ?.

    I would say the same. You should try with an externally powered HD, it ought to work

    Hi folks, I finally have success, according to the mtf, view log below.

    I am mystified as to what happens next, as on finishing the flash the device powered off by itself. Upon rebooting no Android appears….

    Hi, I am still battling to try to get my C5J6 recognised by MFT once in DNX mode, but it’s no go! I am at my wits’ end…

    I have installed, uninstalled and re-installed all the drivers, the iSoC stuff, but to no avail. What am I doing wrong? I really need to install a rom as I accidentally trashed the stock rom.

    Grateful for any help. MTIA

    Hi Mike, I’m very interested in how your install of Android went on your dual-boot. My machine is C5J6, and I am hoping to reinstall an Android system after accidentally trashing stock from Windows.  Mine came with Windows 10 (works very well) and Android 5.0 (worked more or less ok but full of Chinese stuff). I was unable to obtain root, by any method, so I installed Paragon ExtFs software on Windows to be able to view and edit the contents of the Android partitions. Probably a great idea but things went wrong when I accidentally relocated a number of config files. I tried to reset to factory but ended up minus the Android. Now I would like to install either an updated stock or else one of Mirek’s roms. What would you suggest? MTIA.

    Hi, I’ve been absent for a few weeks, came back and saw this great development, TWRP for the Teclast tablet Pro. Could someone tell me if this will work also on my X98 Air 3G(C5J6)

    This looks very interesting. Thanks for the links and info. Mint is the one I would go for as it’s what I use both installed and virtual.

    Thank you, Julyfish;

    I haven’t yet tried a dongle, but from what you say I’d better order an OTG USB hub, as it’s bound to come in handy. I’m mainly interested in seeing if some version of Ubuntu or Debian can be run live.

    Greetings

    Hi, I too am very interested in this aspect of our C5J6 devices, as I frequently use Linux (virtual) systems running from pendrives on both laptops and PCs, and would very much like to know if there is a way to call up a start-up sequence as with F11 on some computers. I am also wondering if anyone has installed Grub and a permanent Linux on their X98 Air 3G.

    Hi, I am very interested in the tools for rooting the C5J6. I tried with iRoot and although the final message was “Success” the device is not rooted.
