Thanks for the tip, i wasn’t sure if it would be part of the intel speakers driver or a separate one so that is useful. I rolled back the driver (had to do this in safe mode) and i still i have no microphone input. I will have to keep fiddling around i guess. Annoyingly i also have tried uninstalling the driver so i can manually install the one that is in the downloads on this website, but it comes straight back in device manager.

I will report back if i ever get it working in case anyone else has the issue.

EDIT SOLVED: thanks for the tip for using driver booster, it found that their was a new driver for intel sound, updated it and it worked!

Pretty sure it’s a graphics driver crash, mine is doing it too sometimes with web browsing. It comes back within a second or two so it hasn’t bothered me too much.

I also use the hipen on my iwork10 ultimate. it works but can jump around a bit. As it comes and goes and screen area seems to change the effect i had assumed its the screen not the pen. regarding palm rejection, get the anniversary update for w10, it adds a tickbox in settings to disable touch screen while pen is in use.

Just to update on my brick. Gearbest are accepting for mine to be returned and replaced with the cube iWork 10 instead. Just need to get it to China from the UK, the cheapest I can find being 20-25GBP

Gearbest are authorising mine to be sent back. I didn’t mention the BIOS update, just told them of the symptoms of not turning on after rebooting. Has to go to China though. Now wondering whether I should get this one again or a different one as replacement ..

I tried to update the BIOS too using the update on tech tablets download section and mine is bricked too. Cannot even get a charge LED.
