I have A6C9, I’ve upgraded the firmware to the latest a week ago, everything went fine (the upgrade process has two parts, each after a reboot, so there’ll be three reboots in total), so I assume the firmware upgrade on A6C9 is safe – anybody else who had succeeded on this variant?
Have a nice day, y'all!
June 4, 2016 at 2:47 am #39808I haven’t really tried the full battery life under Android (it runs smooth, and the battery drain is pretty low), but under Windows on 40% brightness I can watch videos / browse the net on wifi for like 8.5+ hours, and everything’s smooth, even the 30 fps 4K videos – which means I like my A6C9 a lot! :))
I don’t use 3G – I assume it drains the battery a bit more than wifi -, plus I always switch my tablet off instead of letting it going into standby, when I’m not using it for hours.
BTW, the firmware is the latest – you can upgrade it via Device Manager -> Firmware -> System Firmware, then it’ll show Teclast System Firmware. The upgrade process will take a while, and it’s pretty creepy, but after like 3 restarts things will get sorted out, and everyhing will be fine.
Give this a try – if it doesn’t help, maybe your battery is faulty.

May 12, 2016 at 1:34 am #36903You’re welcome, Vitor! Yeah, this tablet is underclocked to achieve the longest possible battery life, and the 2048×1536 display doesn’t help too much… ;)) That’s why most of the average cheapo tablets have only 720p displays – to let you feel everything’s so smooth and fluid on it. :))
Well, I’m playing on my Note 4, which has a lot stronger HW, and also has a QHD display, but it was a lot more expensive than the X98 Plus 3G. :)) That means I won’t play too much on this tablet – it’s too big to hold for hours, and it’s not the most powerful out there, but it’s 100% perfect for reading books and manuals on it, and that’s why I bought it. (The Note 4 has a 5.7” display, and when I found out that most of the ebook readers only have a slightly larger display with 6”, buying a tablet like this seemed to be a better idea.)
I hope you’ll find your tablet useful too! :))

May 11, 2016 at 3:21 pm #36842Teclast isn’t that bad, at least its tablets has good HW quality – SW-wise it’s not the best. You cannot even charge a Surface Pro 3 or 4 without the proper power supply: “Your Surface is designed to work best with the included power supply. Using a third-party power supply may result in slow charging.” It’s a problem with these tablets – they require a lot of power -, but it’s not Teclast’s problem.
I was able to fully charge my X98 Plus 3G in less than 4 hours from 6%, which is quite normal, but with the included charger it was more than 7 hours, and I had to turn the display off to let the charging begin.
Here’s a quality comparison on TT: http://techtablets.com/recommended-chinese-tablets-brands/
Avoid Onda like hell, the others are OK.

May 11, 2016 at 3:12 pm #36840I hope you’re right, as it would be better to have only one model, since the support of Teclast (“Tai Power” ;)) isn’t too good, and there are a lot of derivations with (almost) the same HW, but one of them is single OS, one of them is dual OS, one of them has a 3G modem built-in… Teclast would be able to support A6C9 properly (this, because I have this x)), but not all of them simultaneously.
Have a nice day, y'all!
May 11, 2016 at 3:04 pm #36839Maybe it’s not a HW problem, because you wrote ” it does connects, but even at the remote station is just a blank screen”, so it’s more like a BIOS bug, since TeamViewer also displays a blank screen. If the display’s connection would be loose or broken, you would still be able to use your tablet via TV.
Have a nice day, y'all!
May 11, 2016 at 2:59 pm #36838It’s because the X98 Plus tablets don’t have a GPS module built-in.

May 11, 2016 at 2:52 pm #36833Hello,
I don’t know if Battery Bar is reliable or not, but it was pretty accurate – it stated over 10 hours battery life left, and I was able to use the tablet for at least 10 hours. The x98 Plus 3G has an 8000 mAh battery, and the mW value Battery Bar displays seems to be inaccurate, because mWh = mAh × V, and I think these Li-Poly batteries has at least 3.7V, so it should display 29600 mW instead, which is more than your Toshiba tablet’s.
You can dump the horde of unwanted spies out of Windows 10 using W10 Privacy or utils like that, and you can apply the touchscreen reg-mod to make the touchscreen more responsive.
All in all, I kinda like this tablet – it has its own faults, but hey, if there was a Samsung or Apple logo on it, the price would be at least twice as high. ;)) The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 has a faster CPU, and the price is around the X98 Plus 3G’s, but it has a smaller battery, a smaller display while the resolution is the same, and it only has 2GB RAM instead of 4. I bought the X98 Plus 3G mainly because the dual OS, and the amazing battery life, and yeah, the battery depletes overnight when W10 or Android is running, but since I always switch my tablet off when I don’t use it, it’s not a problem for me.

May 10, 2016 at 5:22 pm #36669Hey Vitor,
1.) There is a download section on TechTablets: http://techtablets.com/downloads-drivers-roms/
You can find most of the needed drivers there, with the exception of the 3G modem’s I assume.
I’ll backup my drivers with Double Driver, if you need them.
2.) I think so, at least there was a 2.5A 5V charger in my box. This tablet is kinda picky with the chargers, and the Raspberry Pi 3’s power supply proved to be a lot better than the one given, so I advice you to install Battery Bar, try a few chargers, and see if one is better than the other.
Have fun with your tablet, and have a nice day!

StormChild

May 9, 2016 at 9:45 pm #36575The X98 Plus is kinda picky with the chargers – I had similar problem like you until I found the Raspberry Pi 3’s 2.5A 5.1V charger provides the needed power: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2RBizCCBOA
I haven’t succeeded with my Note 4’s charger (it charged, but very slowly), my Nexus 7 2012’s charger (didn’t work), the X98’s original charger with a longer or shorter USB cable (the latter at least charged), a noname Chinese 2.5A charger…
I’ve ordered 3 more RPI3 power supplies to have a few spare. :)) Because I want to have one at home, one at work… At least I can use my tablet while charging.
Have a nice day, y'all!
