It’s no good, guys. The keyboard on this is awful, I had to return it. It’s frustrating to type on it at any rate. I’ll either stick to my Helix or getting another brand.

Too bad, because everyrhing else is great.

The fix I saw seemed good enough

to make the keys responsive again. But you have to remove the key cap to do it.

Hey, I broke a couple of pins on the smaller retainer of the T key trying to fix its unresponsiveness. Looking for replacement keys myself.

Any hints or someone with a Cube for spares?

My keyboard is also a little disappointing. I few keys, like E, R, T, will miss a stroke a few times (I’d say half the times).

A found some tips to fix this, which involved adding some material under the key cap to extend the travel and make better contact, so I figured I’d try that.
The caps are very thin and the mechanism underneath seems very fragile. I added a piece of paper and tested it, and the keys were fine now, but they were bulging a bit. So I then tried typing again without the piece of paper. Seems it’s fine. The only problem is that the R and especially the T keys are now a bit loose. Something to do with the way they attach to the white plastic pieces of the mechanism. Pressure alone won’t do it, think I’ll try a tiny drop of glue.

Anyway, the keys won’t fall out or anything, they just feel less solid, that’s all. Typing is fine. I’m guessing they come from the factory not very well attached, and maybe that’s causing the missed strokes.

Anyone with experience in fixing keyboard keys who wants to give it a shot and maybe figure out the exact problem so as to fix it later?

Is this a hardware problem? I have my Cube running Remix OS only and my Samsung 10 class 64GB SD card is not even recognisable.

Before it worked fine on Win10 and not so great in Android, but it worked.

JSYK, I used Dmitriy’s method to install Remix OS.
Installation would go into boot loop when TWRP was being overwritten by stock recovery, so I had to go into recovery (several times until it worked) and wipe everything, format “data” and do a factory reset.

In addition I had to mount “system” while on TWRP and rename “/system/recovery-from-boot.p” to “/system/recovery-from-boot.bak” and “/system/etc/install-recovery.sh” to “/system/etc/install-recovery.bak”.

Only after that did Remix proceeded to start.

But it was only using 8GB and the remaining storage was unallocated and unusable. I created a USB stick with Gparted Live and resized the “data” partition:

    1. Move the “android_config” partition into the unallocated space, making sure you move it to the very end (e.g., to the far right) of the drive.

    2. There’s a partition called “android_persistent” which cannot be moved. Don’t worry, create a new one in the unallocated space exactly the same as the original one (label, size and the file type as the black square (unknown, cleared, whatever your partitioning tools says)). Make sure you create it at the very end of the unallocated space, right before “android_config”. Don’t worry if the file system doesn’t read “unknown”, it will after you apply changes.

    3. Now the unallocated space is right next to “data”, so just click on “data” and resize it so as to use up all the unallocated space.

    4. Delete the original “android_persistent”.

    5. Apply changes.

    6. If needed, fine tune the “android_persistent” (the name/label might be lost after applying changes). Make it the same as before and reapply.

Reboot and you’re good to go with 64GB of Remix OS.

That happened to me as well and had something to do with switching from Win10 to Android. I usually prefer to shut down and reboot with the other OS instead of switching to and fro.

Regardless, I’m quite happy with it. That issue with the power switch stopped and this week I’ve cleaned it up and removed both Win10 and Android and replaced them by Remix OS. Much, MUCH better.

Ok, so now I have my Type-C on Remix OS only (though it’s detected as a Teclast X16, go figure…).
Problem: I only have 8GB for Remix OS and there’s no Windows, so it’s unallocated space that’s just lying there. How can I use that remaining space for Remix? Any way I can partition it?
Aside from that, it’s working like a charm. Great little OS.

I’ve installed Remix from a pen using Dmitriy’s method but it seems that it keeps rebooting.
There seems to be a message saying O should rename the rom file to avoid something (too fast, couldn’t read).

Is there a rom file in the root causing this? Any ideas?

Has anyone tried Dmitriy’s method, with the USB pen? I want to try that one, as it will wipe Windows. I want 64GB dedicated to the Remix and no Windows.

Good news! You guys installed Remix and removed Win10? Or did you keep the dual boot?
I want to install Remix on my type-c as well but I also want to get rid of Windows.

Well, I actually remember your post regarding several programs to fine tune the behavior in Win10, but I actually don’t use Windows. I’m trying to go full Android (or maybe Remix) on this tablet. Just too bad the pen isn’t a hassle-free solution. I’ve used a few apps in Android to inhibit touch input and some note taking apps that emulate palm rejection, but the pen is just way too imprecise even in those conditions. I’ve ordered a new pen. Let’s see how that goes.

I’m sure you’ll do fine with Chrome. I use it on Win10 all the time and no issues whatsoever.

About the pen, though, and sorry for not letting go, are you able to write, take notes and some drawings with it? And do you manage to get palm rejection? Because the pen I’m using is a Chuwi, not a Cube one.
