Hi, I’m using a HI12 myself but can’t get the partition to get bigger, I’n flahing a CM12, and putting the gpt.bin file in the root of the zip-file. But nothing… Can you help?
You have to flash ROM using Intel Phone flash tool and replacing the stock gpt.bin . Use stock or Remix first and after repartitioning successful you can replace with CM12.
July 13, 2017 at 6:42 pm #69185It is possible to do for advanced user. You need to replace the gpt.bin file in the ROM folder with one that modifies the partition layout and reflash android. Please see my post in this thread for details:
techtablets.com/forum/topic/how-to-increase-internal-space-on-android/
I’m still running CM12 on mine with 53Gb storage and no Windows.
May 12, 2017 at 4:30 am #66820First get familiar with using the Intel PhoneFlashTool and flashing stock android or remix:
http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-1633-1-1.html
To repartition you use the same tool but replace the gpt.bin file in the rom folder with the modified one. I would also use the unlocked boot.img uploaded by Carlos that I linked to in my earlier post in this thread.
May 11, 2017 at 8:17 am #66774You can read here about LiPo batteries:
https://learn.adafruit.com/li-ion-and-lipoly-batteries/voltages
3.7 Volts is the nominal (average) but 4.2 is the max or fully charged voltage
So I would definitely try to charge it some more. Also it may be difficult to start first time, try a long 15 or 20 sec hold of power button to make sure it’s off then the normal 5 sec hold
May 9, 2017 at 2:13 am #66685The gpt.bin that I used was repacked by spzjulien for Teclast X98 and originally from Chinese Teclast bbs. I used gpt_53g.bin (renamed to gpt.bin) which give total space for Android and none for Windows. It worked for me but use at own risk.

You must be logged in to view attached files.May 9, 2017 at 1:45 am #666843 volts is too low on the battery, it needs to be at least 3.7 V to boot. A charged battery would be around 4.2V.
April 22, 2017 at 7:22 pm #65857Yes, it’s possible but you need to flash the ROM with Intel Phone Flash tool, not by booting USB.
Have a look at the official firmware links on the Chuwi forum if you haven’t done that before:
If you want to use the whole internal storage for android / remix, the partitioning file gpt.bin needs to be modified. You can see my post in this thread:
March 15, 2017 at 1:34 am #63492There’s probably very little different in performance and older Hi12 has more custom ROM support whereas the z8350 is a bit more unknown.
March 11, 2017 at 5:29 pm #63267If you have the new z8350 CPU Chuwi says not to flash bios. The bios they publish is for older z8300.
March 11, 2017 at 12:37 am #63239I would agree it’s unlikely to be software, maybe a loose ribbon cable missing contacts for that part of the screen, but hardware related.
March 2, 2017 at 4:45 am #62905Overall stability and performance s better in CM12.1 and more complete play store compatibility compared to stock. Aso built in root manager that you can turn on/off in developers mode so no need to flash SU. It does have support for NTFS on USB stick. I haven’t tried the sdcard as my internal card reader is broken. I liked it so much I deleted Windows and have 53 GB Android.
March 1, 2017 at 4:26 pm #62898Not dead, mine still working 🙂  The forum gets less active when people are interested in new models. It seems the boot.img in the stock ROM you flashed is not unlocked. For me, I flashed the ROM that Carlos uploaded in the Remix thread then I changed to CM12.1.
February 19, 2017 at 9:56 pm #62480The TWRP I’m using I got from this thread:
Tethered TWRP / Clean Root / Android exFAT+NTFS support for Hi12 Dual Boot
but I have an older Hi12 so not sure of it’s compatibility with latest version. If Remix was working except for screen rotation then it’s probably just the change in g-sensor which TWRP doesn’t use so should be ok.
I had a look on the Chuwi forum but it wasn’t really clear what stock firmware to use for Z8350 cpu. Hopefully they will correct that.
February 18, 2017 at 11:51 pm #62431I have the same issue that seems to be a hardware fault with the internal card reader as it sometimes works when the card is pressed in firmly but can’t rely on it. I don’t use Windows on this tablet any more so my work-around was to reflash the tablet with 53 GB data partition and make it Android only.
February 18, 2017 at 7:12 pm #62421You probably have a later version where they changed the gsensor.
The best Android for Hi12 is CM12.1
First you will need TWRP recovery. There are different ways to do that but one is replacing recovery.img and boot.img  in the stock ROM folder before flashing.
