Strange, I get an error saying it’s not a t-pad and the update closes.
Oh well…
January 31, 2016 at 5:02 pm #24567No , its totaly dead ! Cant even boot to fastboot ! I ordered a C341A programmer and a programmer clip, should try to reflash the bios with that !
Basically the same problem here. I flashed using the fptw tool and it reported successful. Rebooted and got my dual boot menu but after a few reboots it seems to no longer power on. Very odd, I didn’t even try to install android or make any changes.
Oh well…

January 31, 2016 at 2:09 pm #24549I flash the A5C8 dual bios on A5C6 with the x98 pro tool and it works perfectly. The dual boot menu appears with the windows icon. Now I have to install android but I just want to 8GB data partiton so I have to look at how to do that.
Hey David,
Which x98 pro tool was it you used to flash the bios?

January 30, 2016 at 2:27 am #24375I’m 61% done uploading the files to mega. https://mega.nz/#F!uAYgxABb!lH4vlt89GQhAo1qIOiS9kA
Should be another couple hours.
January 24, 2016 at 1:21 pm #23508Do you have the dual boot version? Everyone here (mostly) has the windows 10 version only so until we get a copy of the dual boot firmware and operating system we won’t be able to answer that question.

The freezing rain kept me indoors today, so I decided to download these files. (Hint: you can use this chrome addon Baidu Exporter along with aria2 to bypass the baidu downloader) Anyways, I threw the files up on my mega account in case anyone wants to download them (i removed the chinese characters from the file names). mega.nz link (6 gigs) Looks like it’s a complete windows 10 build. Haven’t had the chance yet to compare it to the current build on my x98 plus.
Janx thank you for uploading the files to mega! You just saved me and my x98 plus. I was having problems with drivers after a clean install, and the only way to solve the problem was with the Teclast system files that you provided in your mega account. Again, thank you.
Cool, glad to hear it worked for you!
January 17, 2016 at 9:02 pm #22781David, under Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal framework setting you have three sub tree options – do i need to change settings only for Power limit or also for Acoustics limit. Thnx by the way.
Hey Peter, The acoustic limit is for the fan speed (higher level, higher allowed fan speed, higher noise). So not relevant to the 98 plus. cheers (edit) I should note that I edited my Thermal Framework Settings (power to 5) and chrome/firefox lag seems to have almost disappeared.
Does it have any effects on battery life? or on stability and maybe throttling?
Not that I noticed, however I assumed it would have to decrease battery life somewhat. The setting allows for higher core voltage and higher operating clock rate… theoretically.

January 16, 2016 at 2:10 pm #22552Thanks for the tip David, did you guys do any readings to see what CPU temp went to when Dynamic Thermal Setting Framework was set at 5?
