Hi, I have a x98 pro and it is ok. I have problems with switching on. I press the button and sometimes its switch on but most of the time I have to press more than twice. Is this normal? Software problem? Should I install only Windows or Android to fix this problem? Is there a problem with the power button? mfg Simater
This is normal with this tablet. If you haven’t touched the power button. it will normally turn on first time if you press and hold for about 5 seconds. If you press for less time then it will take a few attempts to turn on. I think this is some built in protection to stop it turning on by accident. It is annoying but I don’t think there is a fix
August 22, 2016 at 9:29 am #47608Hello everybody, i´m etha
i have a problem with the mireks Rom. I flashed it, before i created a googleaccount in the former version, so now, after flashing the rom android asks me to activate my account with the former specs. I do not have any. Is there a possibility to create a new one? i cant use android so far.

You just have to sign in with any google account. if you can’t remember the password then try the forgot my password links on google. Otherwise just create a new account
July 20, 2016 at 11:56 am #43988Hi, Did you manage to fix the HDMI problem? I am in the exact same situation.
If you have the same problem I and others have had then you may need to strip away a little plastic from your micro hdmi connection (on cable) so you can push the cable in fully
There is another post on this, the cable needs to be pushed into the tablet a little more. With my cable I could strip away a bit of the plastic with a sharp knife and once done all works as expected.
July 6, 2016 at 1:15 pm #42761This one is still quite unstable for me. Is it possible to flash v3 or v4 and keep all apps installed? Has anyone done this with success?
June 22, 2016 at 9:54 am #41708Hi Chris, thank you for your reply. I prefer windows tablets, as it gives me the ability to run other software as well, when needed. both of the tablets (first one and the one i have now) they will not turn on by any possible way, combination of buttons, with or without power etc. I tried everything. The first one was dying slowly (random reboots) until it completely died; the second one died after a windows update. update was installed and then it would not power up. Thanks
Sorry for late reply, I’ve been away. I would say if you use windows a lot then I would save up and buy a surface (if you want a tablet) the Surface 3 has been as cheap as £300 or get an ultrabook (for me windows is not a great tablet experience – for my x98 pro I pretty much only use windows when I can use a mouse and keyboard)
June 17, 2016 at 11:52 am #41302Dear All, I would like your thoughts on my problem. I purchased from Banggood a x98 pro last December, I only use windows on the tablet and I mainly use when I travel, for reading, surfing and watching movies. Within a month, the tablet died. I contact Banggood and they agreed to replace it, so after waiting another month and half and paying shipping cost and customs I received another tablet, which after 3 months it died as well. As I mentioned, I only when I travel, for reading, surfing and watching movies in the train or plane and perhaps some light gaming. Banggood now offers me to either send the tablet to them so they can repair it (which means more shipping cost and more customs fees) or to give me a $100 voucher (less than half the price I paid) to order another tablet or whatever I want (again more shipping cost and customs fees). For no reason whatsoever they do not accept to replace the tablet again. My question is, should I order again the same tablet (which I do not trust anymore), should I order another “chinese” tablet (which I do not feel very confident with them any more), or should I just buy other crap from them and focus on a brand name tablet? Has any of you had a similar experience with Banggood that managed to resolve in a better way? Is it worth to repair the same tablet? Thank you for all your help!
If you mainly use for reading, surfing and watching films then I suggest getting a brand name android tablet and sell the x98 on ebay as broken (or try to fix, what is the problem?)
A good quality android tablet will like be faster at everything you want to do, lighter and have a much better battery life. Something like a nexus 9, samsung tablet s, xperia z2 tablet will give a much better user experience. An ipad is also another good option.
June 12, 2016 at 11:58 am #40672Hey. Ive bought the x98 pro with the case and keyboard. The problem is that the case weighs a lot (same or even more then the tablet itself) . Any recommendation regarding a light case for the x98 pro? Thanks.
The tablet is almost exactly the dimensions of an ipad air so your best option for something good quality and cheap is to look for an ipad air case. I personally done use one as I have a pouch and a logitech keyboard I hold them both in.
June 3, 2016 at 12:54 pm #39702I recommend Bangood, found them to be the best. And they have a $41 off coupon in the listing here: http://www.banggood.com/Teclast-X98-Pro-WIFI-Intel-Z8500-Quad-Core-2_24GHz-9_7-Inch-Win10-Tablet-p-990292.html
they send without the real box and the reviews saw that 50% of the buyers not really satisfied how can i trust them ? what about geekbuying ?
Do you really need the real box? I don’t really trust any of the sites but I wouldnt suggest gearbest, they often take 2-3 months to send tablets (usually because they have lied about stock) any of them will require you to send the tablet back to china at your cost if there is a problem so its a real risk. I was lucky with mine and it is a very good tablet that still doesn’t have an equal but there are also much better tablets available from more reliable sources if you can deal with only having android or windows and possible a different aspect ratio
so you recommand banggood?
Never used them but I’d trust Chris (G) on this one, as you can see from the site he buys a lot of chinese tablets

May 16, 2016 at 12:14 pm #37536Hi Cris, you sure that Android can read and write NTFS?
Yes I was a little confused but it’s what I’m using and works perfectly.
May 16, 2016 at 8:22 am #37514Hi folks, got my TX98pro. Iverry happy with it. really good performance, Graphic is really impressive. Did the termal mode, install fresh Win10 and Android Marek rom V6. all run smoooooooth:) Given by advice of this froum (many thanks to all) I put an 65 Samsung hig speed SDCard in. Format it with efat. But android is not recogniced. Android would like to format (not a good idear:)) it is possible to format sd card in a way that win10 and Android can read and write? TXS Amd
Format the card ntfs and try again, that was the only format that worked for me. If that doesn’t work for you you may also need to update the bios of your tablet
May 10, 2016 at 9:01 am #36622is still present in the stock rom the teclat bios update app? could someone post a link to download it? thanks a lot
You mean the teclast rom update app? Mine only had that, bios had to be updated manually.
May 3, 2016 at 3:37 pm #35940Hi, I bought a Chuwi HI12 but the touch screen is very awful… For me a good touch screen with a good response is compulsory. I read the Teclast x98 plus’s touch screen was very bad. What about the teclast x98 pro ? Is someone could make a quick video on android (easy to find a touch screen test app) or windows 10 ? I am looking for a 12″ windows10 tablet but I might be satisfied with the x98 pro if the touchscreen is good. (for me the ipad’s touchscreen is the best) Thank you very much.
It isn’t very good. It’s okay but not up to ipad standards. I have limited experience with chinese tablets but I expect most of them to be pretty poor. To get something with ipad quality you will probably have to spend a similar amount of money e.g. Surface 3 (saying that chris seems to like the cube i9 so maybe that’s an option)
May 1, 2016 at 10:21 pm #35761Guys i don´t refer to the black screen bug, i refer to the time of use of the tablet till it discharges ;D
I was getting about 5 hours on the previous version but this one is a bit too unstable and I installed beseige on my windows partition so I haven’t really tested that much. Much better than stock is the answer but not very good compared to other android tablets and no where near as good as an ipad. Are you thinking of buying the tablet or have it already?
