My USB-C port also works when connecting the tablet to a PC so it’s definitely not just for charging. Unfortunately I cannot test it with OTG storage as I don’t have an adapter. Sorry.

@TWICE: Just checking. Are you sure your adapter is plugged in properly? I don’t know how long it is but it seems like it sticks out quite a bit. The USB-C port on my tablet was initially very tight and when I plugged in the charging cable for the first few times I didn’t push it far enough.

Has anyone had problems connecting their iWork 10 to Windows through USB? I have no idea what is wrong but when I plug in the tablet to my PC nothing happens. At all. Neither on the tablet nor on the PC. There is no prompt on the tablet to pick a USB mode as if it wasn’t even connected. When I connect my LG Android phone Windows immediately recognizes the device and if I enable USB debugging ADB works fine and my phone is recognized.

I have the v2 version with the USB type-C and crippled memory speed. Is there a chance that USB connection was disabled or even removed from the installation? Any idea how to make it work? Thanks.

OK. All works fine actually. For some reason after reading the other Cube 10 thread at this forum I was led to believe that USB-C port is only used to charge the tablet and the micro USB port is for everything else. So initially I didn’t even try using the USB-C port when connecting to the PC but at some point I thought to give it a go. It turned out that’s how it works.

Cool thanks, and does it work on type C tablets?

I think so ^^ Just backup through TWRP and if it doesn´t work, just restore the backup … and leave a message for the other Type C users here ?

I guess someone had to be the first one to try it. 🙂

I can confirm it’s all working fine on my C-Type crippled memory Cube iWork 10. Model: i15TCL64GB. Kernel version: “3.14.37-x86_64-L1-R517 Sat May 7 17:02:18 CST 2016”

If anyone is interested this is what I did:
    1. I followed this XDA-dev guide to root my device and flash TWRP recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/cube-iwork-10-flagship-dual-boot-i15td-t3367954 using the modified boot image for i15-TCL tablet. All worked fine.
    2. After that I flashed the Remix file provided earlier by Gray using TWRP recovery. The same here – no problems whatsoever.
    3. Uninstalled SuperSU (had to do it before re-rooting as I was getting binary update error otherwise).
    4. Rooted the device using the ADB command (not the TWRP) by following the guide from a few posts earlier: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/newbi-guide-to-install-remix-os-2-on-cube-iwork-10/page/5/#post-48418 UPDATE: Actually I decided to update to the latest SuperSU version and again I followed the XDA Dev guide I linked earlier and didn’t get stuck on the boot screen. Just make sure you mount the storage according to the guide. The reason I tried that was because if rooted my device using ADB method described here it doesn’t install the latest version so SuperSU wants to upgrade to the latest version afterwards. After the SuperSU update it wants to update the binaries and that’s where I was getting an error. You can always root it using the method described in this thread and just ignore the SuperSU update. I hope this makes sense.

Obviously I rebooted the tablet before each step to make sure it all worked fine.

All seems to be working fine so far. However, I have no keyboard so cannot verify if that works OK but I cannot see a reason why it wouldn’t work.

My first post so ‘Hi’ to everyone.

I received the Cube iWork 10 from Banggood earlier today. It’s the one with the type-C USB port. It’s a really nice and well put together tablet. However, it looks like I have an overheating charger. It got super hot on the first charge and it stopped charging the tablet after less than an hour. It must have shut down due to overheating. It may be even properly busted as after waiting for it to cool down it still doesn’t work. Bugger.

Also, I noticed another slight problem but this is most likely purely cosmetic. It seems like there is something under the screen on the left hand side close to the USB ports. It is not under the screen protector it is under the screen – please see attached picture with the screen protector lifted. It actually looks like the screen was pierced with something very sharp and created a little air bubble around it. I have no idea what that is. It’s just a bit annoying as it looks like a dust particle under badly applied screen protector. Do you have a similar thingy on your tablet or is it just me?

    Many thanks for your input.
