March 18, 2018 at 11:09 pm #140776Can you Giovanni dump the other eprom chip for me?
Sorry but I didnβt have time to do this yet. I still have kean3d laptop so donβt worry, Iβll do it for sure before sending it back ?
Great! I’m not in hurry, but you’re my only hope with this problem π

February 19, 2018 at 2:13 pm #79598Long story short:
- Flashed wrong bios from Windows.
- Googled and found a Jumper-document, picture which shows that GD25Q80C is the bios-chip.
- Took laptop to work and tried to flash backup.rom to GD25Q80C which was difficult because it was 8Mbit and not 8MByte π
- I assumed that problem was super-old prommer and it’s software. Still I was sure that the bios chip is GD25Q80C.
- Tried CH341A with no luck and then I found out it is the wrong chip
So still the right bios-chip has the wrong bios and GD25Q80C has some shit inside… Anybody willing to dump the GD25Q80C for me?
February 18, 2018 at 2:47 pm #79581So the bios chip is the 25L864CWIG :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I have been tampering the GD25Q80C two months now. π π π π π
Now I’m quite pissed… I feel so fucking stupid…
Anybody has the .rom file for the GD25Q80C so I can get my laptop up and running? Mine EZB3PRO is V4.5.
February 18, 2018 at 1:57 pm #79578Got the CH341A programmer at last… Put my original.rom on the chip with the programmer, verify goes ok but still black screen.
And now I have a feeling that I have tampered the wrong chip ALL THE TIME! This 25Q80C chip has 1 meg of memory and all the bios files are 8 meg size. The other chip is GD25LB64CW1G and it has 8 meg memory.
GD25q80C is located near ITE-superio chip and the GD25LB64C is near CPU.
January 19, 2018 at 10:39 am #77239I’ll upload bios from my V4.5 this evening. It’s dated 9-30-2017.
Just bought used Lenovo X220 for the time being… Cost the same than new EB3PRO.
January 19, 2018 at 6:26 am #77230Great… So there is no way to make the keyboard working on V4.5. V5 bios wont work either? Think not if V4 bios works on V5.
But V3 has same bios tag… I had V3(?) before V4.5. It got bad touchpad and no ssd slot, but ac-wifi and fast emmc.
January 18, 2018 at 5:49 pm #77201Software wont let me change the range… Damn.
January 18, 2018 at 2:12 pm #77191Got the prommer working! It was connected with parallel cable to pc and swapped it to usb cable. Now flashing and verifying is ok but laptop wont work. Black screen. Then what…
One thing I dont understand… Buffer range of the promming software is up to 7FFFFF but device programming range is FFFFF. And I cant set it to 7FFFFF. Maybe it just flashes up to FFFFF and thats it. Strange…

January 17, 2018 at 2:12 pm #77155Maybe it is the prommer… Elnec’s website says that beeprog+ supports that chip but no word of the oldest beeprog -model.
January 17, 2018 at 1:25 pm #77145NOT working. Erases, reads zero, ok. Flashes, verify fails, and the reason for verify fail is that only the start of the device range gets flashed, then its zero to the end.
Laptoo says nothing, black screen. With original bios or the older one “jumper.rom”.
WTF.
