I don’t own a chuwi but i do have a bayTrail laptop by i-Life. I bought it for 130$. The way that they implemented the charging is horrible. The charging port is right next to the soc, so, when it charges it heats up the soc as well resulting in heavy throttling up to 0.3 ghz and the right side of the laptop gets so hot to the point where it’s untouchable.

If you’re going to get a laptop, make sure the charging port is on the opposite side of the SoC / CPU.

I personally try my best not to use the laptop while charging since the adapter isn’t strong enough to handle charging and usage at the same time (12V, 2A).

And after exactly owning my laptop for a year, battery has degraded by about 9% (I do charge this everyday) and it’s still enough to last a full day’s work (capacity is around 35 Wh and degraded to 31 Wh)

Good luck on your next purchase

    Hey Chris.

What do you think about these chinese-branded laptops in terms of longevity? Can they withstand 4 years? Since i’m going to college and in need of a laptop for the whole duration of the course.

I’ve decided to get this laptop anyways.

I can trade 6GB or 8GB for great keyboard and mouse, great display and beautiful design

btw, how are temps. on it? as in regular use or even some light-moderate use (a few tabs open including youtube and couple apps running in the background)

bump. sorry to reopen an old thread but im running into trouble and cannot find answers anywhere else, please help! i have bought a f7 64gb and bought an additional ssd (specfically a Toshiba Rc100 NVME M.2 2242 240gb) and no matter what i do i cannot locate the ssd on the computer. i have tried device manager and BIOS and still no luck, it is definitely installed correctly and all hardware is brand new. Can anyone advise what the issue may be? is it an incompatible ssd? thanks in advance

not exactly sure but i don’ think it actually supports Nvme

Even 600-700$ laptops can’t support NVME. Try with a normal SATA 3 and see if it works
