Oh, man. Those chinese tablets! We love them, but then they do this to us, sheesh.
What vendor did you use on Ebay to buy the legit key? I’d prefer not to get burned…
Edit: Well, I went and bought a key from Cheapkeysnow. He sent me the instructions and that worked fine. Four british pounds for a the pro key,,, not a bad price I suppose.
January 16, 2017 at 6:49 pm #60522I had my i9 just about a month when I saw the Transcend on sale at Amazon, so I took the plunge. I didn’t reinstall windows- I just cloned the old drive onto it and then set up a second partition for my files. With this drive, the i9 has a perceptible speed increase, too; not just a benchmark increase, so I’m pretty happy with the upgrade.
December 29, 2016 at 5:03 am #59445If I recall correctly, it appears to be an incorrect setting in the Bios. I had the same reading. I updated the bios with the customized version floating around here, allowed the i9 to discharge to about 5 percent, and then recharged. It now shows 100% after charging.
If you don’t want to go to the trouble of updating the bios you can just live with it, as you don’t actually gain any battery capacity…

My friend has the i7 and his goes to 60%, but he’s had his for a year.
November 26, 2016 at 11:34 pm #57548I just ordered that Huawei modem from AliExpress. Judging from the discussion on the HP website, it appears that the drivers have to be changed from the default Microsoft drivers to the specific Huawei drivers, with the firmware updated first. Does anybody know the details on the firmware and drivers file names? I grabbed the various files described in the HP thread. One of the users named Fasst seems to say that one should update the firmware to the version in SP66535, then run SP66243, and then run SP70068. Is that what others have done? Yes?
Another question. I haven’t opened up the Cube i9 yet, so it isn’t clear to me what is the size of the SIM card it accepts? Nano or Micro?
Edit: OK, according to the IMEI webpage on the Cube i9 the SIM slot is a mini-SIM, so it looks like I’ll be using one of my adapters, then.
November 22, 2016 at 8:42 pm #57277Are there any problems with using the modified bios? I think I read on XDA that there may be some noticeable coil whine.
