If you are planning to use the pen a lot, I really recommend upgrading to a better Bamboo pen and go with the felt tips. The gliding over the glass becomes super smooth and feels very much like pencil over paper. A thicker and more balanced pen will work much better.

Hey, thanks for the info! Could you specify which Bamboo pen are you suggesting? I’d love something a bit more comfortable 🙂

Sorry to say this, but that is just silly. Obviously they wont refund a Retail windows price. Given bulk prices it’s probably in the 20-50$ range max. That’s why it’s better to bug them about a legit key, even if it’s a chinese Win8.1 with Bing (that can be translated).

Don’t think so. Dispute is negotiation. I know I won’t get 250$. And I know the seller won’t refund a penny. But I’ll escalate to AliExpress and I’m pretty sure I’ll get a fair settlement. Always did so far, just need good proof and good case. I already asked the seller if the key was valid, he said yes. I received the tablet today, it’s not. I asked him for a valid key and opened a dispute. He has the choice now. He should have paid 30$ for a bulk licence is the first place.

Hope it goes well for you! Keep us posted, as many will probably have to do the same 🙁

I opened a dispute for 250$ CAD. That’s the price of Windows 8.1 Pro at BestBuy here.

Do you guys know/can check what value did Cube write on your parcels? Cause if I can, I wouldn’t want to pay VAT for the 300, if they only wrote a 100 on the package.

Mine was marked as Gift and 65$ price. Sorry, no photos. This was for the Tablet + free stylus btw, so it might be different for other variations.

As I get from their reactions, they say, that if you upgrade this cracked version to Win10, then that Win10 will be genuine and legit. Is this true, am I misunderstanding something, or they are just dumb and trying to get themselves out of the sh!thole they put themselves in? Has anybody opened a dispute with aliexpress about the cracked software?

I wrote them about this, still waiting for an answer. The legit win10 upgrade is bull. From what I’ve read youd get a somehow working win10 but nagging about activation and not allowing a clean reset etc. So not exactly a legit working system. I will open a dispute if they don’t compensate somehow.

Got the note from local post office, so will try to collect it today. Hope it’s the whole bundle keyboard included.

If I get cracked win8.1, I’ll just ask for partial refund. I have a spare win8.1 from an unfinished build that I’ll use (and upgrade to win10 if it’s stable enough on the i7 stylus).

Already looking at M.2 256Gb drive, and some replacement thermal pads. What thickness would fit best? (options are 0.5/1/1.5mm)

Has anyone found any powerbanks that can charge it?

Is there a way to add a 3g module inside? Would love that instead of tethering or 3g dongle.

I’ve read somewhere on Surface Pro related forums that all Wacom pens are produced by them, so either way that bundled one should definitely be ok 🙂

I thought the same. Do you find something? I was thinking to get a surface screen protector

I ordered a random Surface 2 glass protector. Don’t care if it covers the front cam, as long as it works 😀

Oh come on, a message per day is a lot for aliexpress communication. Especially after such a sale.

After reading that the display might get scratches from using the stylus often, I pulled the trigger on a 10.6 glass screen protector. At least on Surface tablets it seems the glass doesn’t interfere with stylus operation, so I’m hoping it’ll be the same with Cube i7 🙂

Will test before applying 😛 Oh the long wait until everything arrives 😀

So Cube has posted an update on their Facebook saying the gift stylus is exactly the same, just doesn’t have logo and branding printed on it.

This was supposedly done to reduce costs, as they already lost money on each sale tablet.

I’ll be very happy if this is indeed true! 🙂

Honestly as long as it works and docks I don’t even care if it’s the original Cube pen or other 😀

I would have ordered the original too if I knew this, just to be safe.

Yeah, same here. Tablet first, and the rest in a separate shipment. My hope is that at least keyboard/pen could arrive without extra taxes 😀

Could you give more info on those extra thermal pads you installed?

Did they work, and which ones did you use?

So yeah, I just got mine shipped. And it really seems the pen isn’t the CEP01. What they wrote me just now:

“Don’t worry, the pen is not much different from cube pen, the same size, and the same model, we have tested it”.

I really don’t care what is it, as long as it has those 1024 pressure levels and can be stored in the keyboard. Need to look for ways to test that pressure sensitivity now to know if I need to buy the original or not 😐

Judging by that Cube promo list the first 500 sales were made during the first 7 seconds, so no wonder many didn’t get it.
