Seriously people I would not install this image as it will never fully activate and if you’re one of the lucky ones who has managed to activate the licence you have activated will only will last 180 days as its a developers licence. Just do what I did and reinstall Windows 8.1, fully update then install windows 10 using the Windows 10 USB tool. Worked fine for me and I’m typing this on my fully activated Windows 10 Home Chuwi Hi8
August 6, 2015 at 8:08 am #8750Yeah I’m having the same issue…well not really an issue more of a niggle, but I suspect its a windows issue that they’ll fix later.
Also if anyone needs any help flashing the original Windows 8.1 image just get in contact because I’m a pro after messing up my installation, reinstalling windows 10, then using the USB method to upgrade to Windows 10!

August 1, 2015 at 6:59 pm #8213Ok I now have another problem. I’m trying to reinstall Windows 8 using the two .rar files and I’m getting an error message. “Install.wim NOT found” (please see attached image). I’ve formatted USB1 to Fat32 and USB2 to NTFS, loaded the files correctly and it still won’t install.
I don’t know if this is because I’ve removed the Android partition and if so I can’t understand how to reset the Bios to get the partitions back to how they were as the english translation of the BIOS document don’t make sense. I can get into the EFI shell but the ‘down’ arrow does nothing.
If anyone can help I would be really grateful.

I don’t think it will stay activated as future updates are released.
So I’m just going to reinstall Windows 8.1 from the files i downloaded of Chuwi’s website and start again to get to Windows 10
July 31, 2015 at 4:52 pm #8128I had the same idea.
I have now tried it on two work PC’s at my office and now I’m at home on my Mac and each time the download has shown to be corrupt.
But like I posted earlier I found the same with other downloads off TechTablets.
July 31, 2015 at 4:49 pm #8125Yeah I think its a TT server issue, I just tried to download the original Windows 8.1 files and part one and part two are also corrupt. I’m downloading the Windows 10 image and i’ll upload it to my Google Drive for people to download.
But it is very slow. I have a 80Mb download speed and the download is maxing out at 0.2Mb per second…only 3hours 20 minutes to go :-/
July 31, 2015 at 2:30 pm #8112Hi,
Ok cool.
I tried downloading both versions of the image and WinRAR told me they were corrupted and wouldn’t let me extract them so I’m stuck downloading the really slow version from the Chuwi website 🙁
July 31, 2015 at 12:25 pm #8101Yeah that’s exactly what I tired with the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to install Windows 10 Home directly to the SD (creating D:ESD-USB) card then running “setup.exe” then when it gets to the point it installs it gets to around 30% then says “Windows 10 Installation Failed”. No idea why.
All I can think is I’m installing the wrong version maybe and that might be why, but no matter what it wont work.
July 31, 2015 at 12:13 pm #8096Ok, i’ll give it a go but how do I boot from the SD Card?
July 31, 2015 at 12:02 pm #8091Hi,
Do you mean do a fresh install? I’ve already installed “Windows 10 Home 32bit” onto my SD Card and tried by updating in windows.
I’m worried that that a fresh install wont activate as people have been saying the product key isn’t valid for windows 10. Also how would I get my product key?
July 31, 2015 at 11:46 am #8085I’m finding the TechTablets download link to be failing and the other Google Drive link to be corrupted and I’ve tried on 3 PC’s now.
Also I’m concerned that everyone on the Chuwi forum is now saying its not activating. I tried the Windows upgrade route but it fails every time, so I feel stuck 🙁
