Hi everyone!! I am so happy after 1 whole day figuring this out finally got activated windows 10 pro. All I did was install my win8.1pro then download win10pro from microsoft. burn mage to usb. open usb through win explorer then set it up directly. it upgrades and does not remove my account. then i check its already activated. I just reinstall drivers. Everything is fine.
August 3, 2015 at 12:38 pm #8349i used the original image downloaded from microsoft website and it´s fully activated now, i don´t know why, maybe it retrieves the key by itself or maybe microsoft lied about not everyone could get a free windows 10 installation xD

August 5, 2015 at 10:08 am #8591Hy Chris
Could you help me with a (sort of) pros and cons; between flashing, and upgrading?
Why sould I upgrade or not; why sould I flash or not
Thanks, Peter

August 5, 2015 at 10:58 am #8594To my knowledge upgrade would be the easiest options because you don’t have to worry about the product key ID. However a clean install is good for refreshing everything.. I chose the upgrade option but it failed for me and now I have a bricked Hi8…
August 5, 2015 at 10:51 pm #8710I’ve just upgraded to Windows 10. (upgrade, not a flash). Is there anyone else who’s experiencing the battery button in the task bar not working? My one does nothing if I tap it. And also if it worked, does it have the brightness slider, or just a button for brightness setting?
Thanks, Peter

August 6, 2015 at 8:08 am #8749Yeah I’m having the same issue…well not really an issue more of a niggle, but I suspect its a windows issue that they’ll fix later.
Also if anyone needs any help flashing the original Windows 8.1 image just get in contact because I’m a pro after messing up my installation, reinstalling windows 10, then using the USB method to upgrade to Windows 10!
