I have a working copy of SD card reader driver. I only use 16GB card so i don’t know if it works with 64GB card, but if your unreadable card is because of Windows, accidentally update driver, please try this in attachment.
Copy (replace if necessary) to C:/Windows/System32/drivers

I don’t own a Hi8 but maybe you can get something like a leather case to cover it up? Too much hassle just to open the tablet and un-solder the LED

I don’t think it’s going to hurt it if you do it once or twice to calibrate the battery. I do it to all my Chinese tablets as often they sit at 7% for a while.

Chris, thank you very much for your suggestion. I drain my battery to 5% but Windows turn it off automatically before it hits 2%, i can’t set below 2% in Power Option menu. Good protection feature, but i need to completely drain until no power left, so with only 3% left, i just go into BIOS setting by pressing ‘Esc’ key when Chuwi chinese writing logo appear when booting, left it on for approx 45 min until it powered off.

Now i have the same battery capacity with yours.

I bought one from Aliexpress when it’s on sale.

Still no success installing windows 8.1 Pro since the touch problem is there. Installing is pretty straightforward. Just boot from USB and you’re good to go.

Regarding touch in Win 8.1 Pro, someone told me that probably it’s registry related issue, as I have tried install-reinstall driver bazillion of times, over multiple trick and touch still doesn’t work.

Right now I’m running windows with bing (international version) from the image most likely downloaded from Chuwi BBS. Running fine, but I can’t activate it. I suspect that my BIOS key is for activating the Chinese one. Still puzzled, but glad touch work.

May I know your Vi10 Product Serial Number? its located on the metal ribbon.

    Mine have 5050xxxx series

Mine also 5050xxxx series. By the way, what do you mean by Chuwi BBS ?

I’m afraid so. Newer build have less static on the 3.5 mm audio jack.I have never compare to other tablet but i am agree that this speaker doesn’t sound cheap. How do you think it compared to your Surface?

I have clean output from the 3.5mm audio jack, but the speaker in the left slightly over powered that it makes small crackling sound in maximum volume. Weird thing is the right speaker isn’t crackling though.

I have no problem with my Vi10, everything come in English and i successfully activated the Windows from my country (Indonesia).

    @Adithya Bagus,

Halo mas, do you install Windows 8.1 Pro to replace the Bing version ones? Do you mind to create a tutorial on how to install it?
Regarding touchscreen issues, have you tried to install gyro/compass sensor driver? i read somewhere in this site that it is affecting touchscren sensor.

    Hi Chris.
Great work and I really appreciate your tests, particularly for Chuwi VI10 and Teclast Air X98.
Do you have any information on the VOYO Winpad A1s which seems to have very good spécifications

    •Windows 8.1 & Android 4.4 Dual OS
•10.1 inch 1280*800 IPS capacitive touch screen
    •Intel Z3735F Quad Core 1.8GHz
    •2GB DDR3L RAM and 32GB eMMC ROM
•Support TF extend up to 128GB max
    •Support Bluetooth/WIFI/OTG/HDMI function
    •Front 2.0MP + Rear 2.0MP camera
    •Support external 4G/3G module

It is at present at a very good price ($129 at Gearbest).

Would appreciate your comments before I buy a new dual OS tablet

Many thanks and keep up the good work.
    George

i would recommend you to take Vi10 instead of this. the price is only a few dollars more but you can get full size USB ports, slightly better and larger screen, and the important things are good screen panel quality and decent keyboard.
Believe me,you can’t go wrong with Chuwi Vi10

    Chris,

I received my tablet yesterday and have been tinkering with it. I agree with you that the screen is very nice albeit only 1366×768. I found that the hardware type is same to Microsoft Surface 1 screen : Samsung LT106AL01. Great tablet but the only limitation is 32GB eMMC which push me to delete android partition in order to gain more space.
Can you help me which partition is safe to delete?

    i just deleted android lol
the 7gb partition tried to make it smalers but android didn’t boot after (didn’t know android was on the 7gb space also) so i now have a 7gb drive + yeahh

Hello regilio, Which partition is safe to delete? i noticed there are two 1Gb, one 7Gb, one recovery partition 5.27gb, and also several small partitions 64,32,16 Mb

Well sir, it is nice and should be no problem in the customs. For the lists of good trader, sorry i can’t say much because i myself also still looking for tablet. I didn’t buy yet but i managed to chat with some sellers, and looks like these sellers is good in terms of price:

    http://www.aliexpress.com/store/805904 – Sichuang technology
    http://www.aliexpress.com/store/902969 – Honesty team
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/321958 – Bloomberg Mikki (the only seller who have youtube channel and posting some hands on video too)

Some famous store but usually their price is higher :
    Ele, OKQI electronic

Maybe the price will be different because i usually didn’t pay attention to DHL shipping. For the wrong information, well i think it happens is almost all the stores. I usually cross checked with other store, and also here.

Pro tip : don’t trust also the manufacturer or office’s photos to compare which store has bigger factory/manufacturer. Most of the time its never real.

    Greeting sir,

I am also interested in buying these cheap Chinese tablets. I will share my experience in shopping in Aliexpress. I have bought 8-9 items (consist of computer accessories and refurbished mobile phones mainly, and some mini PC) from aliexpress and so far, the seller is always shipped the product (no scam). I used credit card payment and usually choose EMS shipping.

FYI i live in Indonesia so EMS is the best choice to ship as it is ‘easier’ to trick than DHL/Fedex with the value of goods. If i received any package valued above USD 50, then the tax is crazily marked up here, even can be higher than the price of the goods itself. (Yeah, living in the 3rd world countries where everything can be corrupted by customs officer) So most of the time if i bought > USD 50 product,s i just tell the seller to declare the value is lower, such as 30-45 $ so i didn’t get custom fee/tax at all. I don’t know if this also works if you live in Europe/other countries.

Main concern is sometime the seller put wrong information about their product, typos everywhere, missed details, and you can’t really trust the displayed photo. make sure everything by asking directly to the seller or of course, read the reviews written here to get the correct information and see the real product in the video.
