Hi everyone,

it’s been a while and I thought I’d make another attempt at re-flashing my Chuwi Vi8 CW1506.  Tried everything suggested by the Chuwi help center, and other forums online, but unable to get the tablet to respond to the signals sent through OTG-Keyboard-USB Drive combination.  Does anyone on this forum, with some technical knowledge of the Chuwi Vi8 tablet, have any idea how a hard reset can be done on this tablet?  Even if it means removing the back cover and doing something inside it, since i’s very easy to remove the back cover.  I’ve done that too, disconnecting the battery as suggested and recommended which, by the way was to have reset something or other.  But, it didn’t work.  No harm in trying, since it hasn’t worked for a long time and it’s useless the way it is.  Any help from a real tecky know how guy would be very welcome and much much appreciated.

Okay, then is repair somewhere in the forum?  Can you help me locate the answer?  I’ve been searching for months now, and I must admit I’m not

Hello Dawei,

Can you tell me if I can use the above to flash the bios on my Chuwi vi8 dualboot tablet?  It won’t boot past the two Windows and Android icons, while neither one works, I get the Windows error:  Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart.  We’ll restart for you. etc… Inacessible boot device.

This happened while trying to go back to Windows 8.1 from Windows 10.  Unfortunately, I did something to the bios which was available then, and I don’t

know what it was, some five or six months ago.   Thanks v.m. for your help.  I really would like to get this 8inch tablet working again.  Thanks.  Lou

Justin, this is one great piece of work.  Thank you very very much for a remarkable step-by-step.  I was able to follow it easily from the first to the last step.  However, my problem isn’t resolved.  I think I did something foolish when I played with the bios several months ago while trying to get the table to boot.  It’s been a while now, so I don’t frankly remember.  I believe I need to flash the bios before I can flash anything else.  Any help would be more than welcomed.  Thanks again for the tutorial.
