Hello to all, I am trying to flash C2E3 TECLAST x98 Plus 2 (Android only : 2GB RAM +32 GB user) using Teclast package . Goal is mainly to try to improve a very poor wi-fi sensitivity and install OTA application which has never worked. In Teclast X98 Plus Android firmware update tutorial, it is mentionned to Copy CUSTOM_CONFIG.INI (in Firmware folder) but I can’t find it after unzipping the package as I have only a config.img with size= 4281 ko. Does anyone has encountered this problem and was able to solve it ? Thanks in advance for your kind support & best regards, Jean

I’m not sure if your BIOS comes with the support for the dual OS mode. It would be a good thing to make a backup of your BIOS image since it might contain some hardware specific modifications (image sensor, wifi, bluetooth, etc.). Also, I’m not sure if you need to first flash a dual-os supported BIOS into your device. Can you tell us what version of BIOS do you have? You can enter BIOS by holding Power and Volume+ keys when starting your device or by connecting a USB keyboard and pressing Del key during boot.

I would be interested in your single-os BIOS image, since I have a C2D6 version of the X98 Plus II device and I have problems with micro SD card. I’m starting to wonder if problems come for the dual-os BIOS that is found in our devices, so I was thinking about flashing single OS BIOS version.

As for the WiFi and OTA updates, you’ll quite certainly see no improvements there. WiFi has hardware/driver related issues and OTA updates would mean that Teclast is actually providing support for their devices and that is a joke.

To get newest Android image, you can simply download it from their web page.

EDIT: After rereading your post, I see that I’ve made a wrong assumption about you trying to install dual OS system. Sorry :/

Hello bob morane, how did you manually destroying the Windows partition with diskpart? inside the windows tablet itself? and how did u solve the installation problem after that? your help is appreciated. thanks!

Follow this link to the teclast.com web page and enter your tablet’s model.
    http://www.teclast.com/en/firmware/
You will find both Android and Windows ROMs there and a guide on how to install these.

What are you trying to accomplish, restore your tablet to default OS options or have a single OS Android/Windows?

Can you use a mouse over the USB port and rerun the calibration or reset to default values?

    What OS are you using?

hi ! Guys…please the microsd works with REMIX?

If your micro SD is misbehaving, installing Remix, reinstalling Android or Windows will not help.
I’ve tried all options, but to no avail. It definitely seems that the BIOS makes problems for us. How? I don’t know.

Overall, Remix OS looks nice but it is not polished. Take into account that it has the same Android 5.1 base as the stock ROM. Meaning that any instability from the base will also be present in Remix OS, plus any additional from the OS in itself.

    Some of the problems:

    • overheating, the whole tablet was really warm
    • sound adjustment is basic
    • brightness adjustment is basic
    • slow WiFi speed remains
    • micro SD card problems

Teclast has to show that it can support currently available devices let alone buying something new from them. We first have to see if their products are worth buying, at the moment I don’t think so.

Their official website and forum are constantly offline! Their forum is riddled with people who have same problems as we have here on this forum and no one is responding to them. Lucky for them, they have bought these devices locally and can easily return them.

I’m sorry to say, but get rid of that device!
I have a C2D6 revision device with the same problems. There are no fixes for it, trust me. Installing random drivers and tweaking Windows registry s is not a permanent solution, since we are dealing with the bad hardware!!! This is not a cheap device.

I was OK with the WiFi not working properly, since I could store my files on a micro SD card(s). But, today I was reading a PDF and micro SD (Samsung EVO+ 64GB) vanished from Android OS. The system tries to mount it continuously. I thought that it was a problem with the card, but the card works normally on my PC. I tried some other cards, non of them work. Both Android and Windows are affected. System sees that a card is inserted, but it cannot “start talking” to it.

Some other problems with this device:

    • short battery life, <5h. It drains @10% per hour even in standby.
    • random lockups with black screen prompting me to reset the device.

Piece of shit Teclast device. I’m so pissed off at Teclast.

    Hi,
I’ve used taobao.com as the source of information.

    Basically,
    Jumper EZpad 5S has:
    an 11.6″ 16:9 panel,
    8500mAh battery,
5Mpx rear and 2Mpx front camera,
    1xUSB3.0 2xUSB2.0 full size ports,
    it weighs 910 grams,
    no support for touch pen

    Jumper EZpad 5SE has:
    a 10.6″ 16:9 panel,
    6500mAh battery,
2Mpx rear and 2Mpx front camera,
1xUSB3.0 1xUSB2.0 full size ports and 1xUSB2.0 micro size,
    it weighs 710 grams,
has the support and comes with a touch pen

Both have the integrated support for self-stand operation as part of the case.

Personally, I think that the 16:9 aspect ratio is awkward for panorama use.
