When I am reading posts about changing bios chip in the motherboard, I am fking scary. Are you everybody working as a repair person in any factory? Or changing the bios chip is very easy and every gsm service is able to change it?

Actually you said quite important think.

I am all the time waiting for some move from Teclast, or the other company about creating something similar to hi12 (the same or bigger screen, update to z8500 or better).

I hope that chuwi will not do the same like with dualboot option- instead of updating their first model, they create new device with dualboot and stylus support.

I just hope that they will offer option of updating current dualboot devices to remix os.

@Rogusmortem Could you share here what kind of steps you needed to do to fix it? It can be useful for the others 🙂

Just because they don’t have 3:2 or 4:3 and minimum 12 inches device, I can’t be interested in teclast.

About topic- I understand, but please don’t do rubbish here- Chris is working very hard for us, and his site is getting more popular. This topic should be created in official chuwi forum- maybe they (chuwi) will read it and think twice about changing the quality of their devices. Writing that kind of jokes here didn’t change anything.

Could you explain what this topic mean?
You are not satisfied, or what? Your hi12 is not working?
I am reading official chuwi forum, and here about issues with hi12, and I really think about, should I buy it or not…

Tablet will not flash this recovery, because recovery have to be created for that device. Someone create clockworkmod for vi10, so with custom recovery root is easy- TWRP for example have builded option to install root acces, later you have to just install from google play application supersu (by chainfire, the best) and it’s working.

There is also few other metod to do root, but this with custom recovery is the easiest in my opinion

I don’t know exactly the specification of vi10 and hi12, but it you will try  to install it again, and it will pass, you can brick your device, or just android will not boot.

Actually I will never buy any dedicated keyboard, because I don’t need it. I have logitech k700 which is working perfectly, also with tablets and tv’s.

Is there any option to do similar heat sink mode for the processor in hi12, and what is also important- for bios? I know that Chuwi don’t have so big problems with overheating, but electronical devices like to have more cold in the summer time 😉

And I expect that kind of answer. Again thank you so so so much 😉

Thank you @Chris for your answer. You have a lot of experiences with tablets, so if you will find few minutes free:

Let’s compare 2 tablets- chuwi hi12 and cube i9, which you will choose? But one important thing – Don’t look at performance (like external ssd in i9), possibility with upgrades (like heat sink mod) etc etc. Just compare between quality of manufacture (I mean, which device is better create by company). I know that both of the device you open and see how it looks inside. I belive that because of experiences with different devices you have kind of feeling, that you are holding piece of crap, or something more carefully created. Also don’t forget about the last, also important – is it make sense to pay almost 200 euro more?

(Chuwi hi12: ~200 euro with discount, banggood.

    Cube i9: 396 euro, aliexpress)

I am sorry that this topic is about everything. But I hope that someone also is looking for answer for that questions.

Thanks to all for your response- I will do exactly the same like Laco Dekany- a lootttt of pdf, but not with text- with the musical scores. That’s why 12 inches 3:2 ratio is obligatory and minimum to see full size pages.

So you have positive opinion about gearbest, because someone test it before sending it to you. How about banggood? Any experiance?

I want to choose the best trusted website to order it.

It’s nice to read some positive comments.

When you buy the device you want to use it minimum for the next few months without thinking about repairing. But some of the people are talking about problems with using hi12 when it’s connected to the charger. Also I read about some unexpected noise in low brightness settings, and the worst- destroying bios chip after first charging.

I understand that with china tablets is usually lottery. Maybe you have some experience and know the best source to buy it? There is a lot of websites like aliexpress, or banggood – did you think that maybe better tested devices are available in banggood than in the other sites?

I am reading all this information, which are very interesting, but I think that noone care so much about what is the most important in this device-

I am looking for a tablet with OBLIGATORY screen 3:2, MINIMUM 12 inches with windows. True is, that for price less than 300 euro there is only chuwi hi 12.

Another device? Ipad pro or some surface, where the price is more less about 1000 euro. Cube i9? 16:10 screen, no thank you. Devices 2 in 1 have screens 16:9 which is totally bulshit and are also expensive. In the last place let’s think about 4:3- mayyybbeee yes, but still 3:2 is more comfortable. Why?

Think is that i will use it to read full pages of music scores, that’s why this is only one model for that price with that ratio 3:2.

People who say that doesn’t make seanse to buy it because of size- you don’t need that size, so buy smaller. For me is still quite small device. More than 13 inches with 3:2 will be perfect- but noone make it.

You really want to compare between tablets which one is faster in games or in photoshop or others heavy programs? It doesn’t make seanse, because this device was not made with idea of gaming or another advanced programs.

But of course it’s just my opinion. Maybe someone can tell me, where I can find bigger tablet with better processor, 3:2 screen for less than 300 euro? Thanks in advance.
