which wifi model is installed in the EZpad 6 pro? maybe i can find the driver from other sources … (maybe the hardware identification number) ..?

My EzPad 6S states Realtek RTL8723B Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adaptor. Could well be different for the EzPad 6 Pro though. They are similar specs otherwise (6S has more RAM).

There is nothing on the Realtek website for this model: http://www.realtek.com/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=64&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

I actually tired to find a better driver for this as mine doesn’t cleanly resume after putting the tablet to sleep. A full shutdown is fine but after sleep it won’t reconnect to the network. I have also had the occasional issue where it won’t connect when it boots and ends up disabling itself. A reboot fixes this too.

Is there an unknown item in Device Manager which relates to the touchscreen? If so click on it and then select to update the driver and point it to the folder where you have extracted the files from the compressed file above. To uncompress this file you need to download 7Zip.

Do you have the same weird Kenji process running in your system tray

No, I haven’t seen that at all.

Upon boot up, I noticed there was already a profile on the Windows 10 installation with username “P”. Seemed like this was a returned unit unless they all come like that

I have the EzPad 6 Pro and it has the same profile. I had an issue with the profile where it wasn’t saving any changes I made to pinned items in the start menu. I ended up adding a new user account, promoting it to administrator and then logging into that account. Afterwards you can then use the new account to delete the default login and old profile folder. The issues I was experiencing were resolved by this process.

Quick update – Banggood paid for the return postage and replaced the tablet with a new one which works perfectly.

Overall the tablet performs well, it is just a shame it doesn’t support charging via the micro USB or USB-C ports. That is the only real negative of this model that I have noticed.

The 6S, 6 Pro and 6S Pro all seem to be the same board and essentially the same tablet. The 6S came with only 4GB of RAM, the 6 Pro with 6GB and the 6S Pro with the SSD drive.

In the video unboxing of the 6S (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8HEirskCng) you get to see inside the tablet and he confirms there is an unpopulated M.2 slot inside which can hold a 2242 or 2260 drive.
