Hi Chris
Yes I did get it sorted which was a huge relief. Gearbest were no use in helping, every time I contacted them all I got back were replies saying that delivery dates where out of their control so clearly there was a language barrier somewhere…
So I contacted Paypal and they in turn opened a dispute and I also had to contact the police fraud department to get a fraud report which I then had to send a copy to Paypal and within a few days I got my money back and re-ordered the item (This time from the UK).
It’s a horrible thing to happen. I was so excited to get my parcel when it was delivered and when I picked it up it didn’t feel right, and my heart began to skip a beat. The I opened the package (which incidentally has been resealed badly with lots of tape) and everything was boxed up but as soon as I opened the Xiaomi Notebook box that’s when I felt sick as it was empty….
I can’t honestly say where it could have happened, whether it was en-route from HKG or when it was in the hands of Yodel in the UK.
I have ordered tonnes of stuff from Gearbest and this has never happened before or since but it really does make you feel so sad that there are some horrible thieving scumbags out there that think it’s ok to steal from you like that..
So the motto of my story is either pay with Paypal or with your credit card at least then you have some protection.
April 15, 2016 at 11:23 pm #33711Wow thanks for the update ‘CS’, I ended up sending mine back due to having this issue, but it’s good to know that there is now a workaround 🙂
March 21, 2016 at 11:13 pm #30314Hi there, nope never managed to get the issue resolved I have resorted to returning the item back to the seller which is sad as I really liked it 🙁
March 5, 2016 at 8:47 pm #28124Hi I still have the same issue and it seems to happen when I am watching YouTube. The issue I am having is I cannot find a support page to check for any updates etc…..
February 25, 2016 at 11:25 pm #27110I think it does actually make a clicking sound but it is very low volume as I thought the same as you at one point. You can try to increase the system volume and see if that makes it any better.
February 24, 2016 at 10:19 pm #26983Hello Nitaya, yes it runs Office 2016 perfectly well and any X86 program for that matter, well aside from something that requires a lot of processing power.
The tablet is great for movies, music, web browsing and office work, no problems at all.
February 22, 2016 at 12:00 am #26648Yes mine is running Office 2016☺
February 17, 2016 at 8:07 pm #26317Yep you have the same disk size as mine, seems there’s a few GB of storage missing?
Not tried charging mine with my Surface Pro 3 but I am guessing there’s not enough power for it to charge so I just plug mine into the ac outlet.
How are you enjoying the device?
February 17, 2016 at 2:26 pm #26281That’s not good, and you checked for any hidden partitions? TBH, I haven’t checked mine but I know after installing all the Apps that I use I have around 39GB left so maybe you got a device with a dodgy storage drive….I would email your seller and see what they say and I will look at mine tonight… I am just also about the order the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, have you seen them, beautiful phones 🙂
February 16, 2016 at 9:45 pm #26209That sounds handy do you have a link to it?
Where are you based?
I tried using the USB – USB C charger that I have with my MacBook but that doesn’t work at all 🙁
February 16, 2016 at 3:20 pm #26155Hi Matt,
I don’t really do any sort of gaming so no idea on that one sorry.
Regarding general video streaming, browsing the battery is not too bad, I probably charge it up every other day and I do use it quite a lot. One thing I did notice though, never let the battery completely drain as it does not like that at all. I had problems getting it to boot up until I had fully charged it up.
I think that guy from eBay was selling at £240 including DHL shipping unless he increased the price. He also put a lower sale price on the invoice so I only paid £16 custom tax
February 15, 2016 at 8:18 pm #26070Battery life is ok, I think you just need to remember that it is powering a lot of pixels in that display but I have no concerns. There’s no heat issues that I have noticed. But, I have learned, do not let the battery drain all the way down and when you use the device for the first time charge it up for an hour. This device seriously does not like having a low battery level.
Below is the link to the seller that I used. Great seller, got the item shipped by DHL in three days:
February 14, 2016 at 11:39 am #25977Hi there, seems that way doesn’t it? I looked at all the usual sites and they were all on pre order so took the plunge and ordered off this eBay guy from China. Anyway, I got the item in 3 days by DHL and he even lowered the price on the invoice so I paid hardly any customs tax which was great. I got the MiPad 2 that is a kind of dark silver and honestly I have not seem a tablet device that looks as premium and smart as this does. It looks amazing, the build quality TOP notice and the display amazing. Yes it does have a start button on the bezel, it’s a capitative one and is build into the software so only shows up when you put your finer on the display….
I can’t stop using it it is that good 🙂
