I’ve gave up on updating the bios…
I’ve been getting the “please wait while we install the system update” flash since ever, and thought maybe restoring the X5 Pro with the factory image provided by Lucas would help.
After days trying it, I’ve managed to finally recover with the factory image by formatting a USB with FAT32, copying the files of a Chinese Windows 10 instalation disk, and substituting the “install.esd” with the “install.swm”. “install2.swm” and “install3.swm” from the “source” folder of the Teclast factory file.
As I thought, recovering to the factory image was useless, and I still cannot update the bios. As i’m prompted to reboot the PC to complete the installation, it flashes the “please wait while we install the system update” message, and reboots again, to an unfinished installation. Lost many many hours searching for an answer, posted here a few times, and now I’ve finally gave up.

Hey, I’ve reuploaded the files in Google Drive if someone happen to have a problem with Mega (and for the sake of a mirror):

I still need to try Nicola’s solution to create an Iso file out of the original image!

Hey Lucas, first of all, thank you very much for the upload.

But speaking about the 8.5gb .RAR file, do you wonder how can i make a bootable device outta it? I don’t seem to be able…

Hi, I still don’t have the eGPU adapter to test it.
I’ll probably test it over the next months.
I wanted to do the Bios + USB-C charging firmware updates before that, but i don’t seem to be able to :/

I’ll try reinstalling Windows10 to do the update. Anyway i’ll come with news as soon as I have it.

Hi, I’m unable to update BIOS. From device manager I’ve selected Firmware and I’ve clicked on update driver and browsed to the downloaded update. The file is recognized correctly and Windows ask me to reboot. When the system reboot it doesn’t start the update procedure as explained on the pdf guide. Can you please help me? Thank you

I’m having the exact same problem.
    Does anybody have an idea?

Since nobody answered, I will by myself.

I finally bought the Teclast X5 Pro aaaand: yeah, in fact there are several mentions on Thunderbolt over USB-C on Bios. It doesn’t come activated by default, you have to do it on your own. Bios is accessed by spamming “Esc” on start.

There are also several mentions on external GPU usage over Thunderbolt, which are deactivated by default. You have to activate it, and when you do, the default is “AMD only” and you may change to “AMD and Geforce”.

I haven’t had the opportunity to test a Thunderbolt device, nor a External GPU over Thunderbolt. I’ve only heard it has been done on similar chinese tablets.

I’m updating the BIOS with the file provided by Tech Tablets tonight, and as soon as I have new tests done on Thunderbolt I’ll come here to share what I’ve got.

Can someone please reupload both the BIOS update and USB-C fix? Techtablets links are broken and Teclast website won’t recognize my ID for download. Thank you very much.

Ok, I’ve managed to download both files today after trying a bit hard. Not sure what made it work in fact.
I was having the same problem firstly reported by Darker.
I’m thinking maybe it has something to do with the VPN I’m behind.
I must state google servers are not the best option for hosting files for CHINA made tablets, specially when you buy them there, because of the GFW, lol.
Anyways, keep up the great work. I should be testing it tonight.
