Here is a double driver backup that I made when I got my eb 3 pro couple of weeks ago: https://mega.nz/#F!351w1I4T!Y6hhI418EYzNAj9QOz6ZBQ

Thank you, I did a fresh Windows Install which removed most/all bugs from the system, no hidden services. Not exactly paranoid but drivers are the easiest way to capture key logs / create back door into PC’s , fresh install has increased the battery life and i am now getting around 6.5 hrs browsing, light music @ 40% brightness with breaks / sleep in between.

However i have 3 unknown devices in my device manager and its proving difficult to find the drivers, anyone know the make of the motherboard on this device?

I have attached an image of the same.

Here’s a tip for creating things like single press Vol +/- functions, Page Up/Down etc. Use remapping software such as SharpKeys or ATNsoft KeyRemapper to create your required keys. I have single press F1+F2 as Vol +/- and single press F11/F12 as Page Up/Down. Still haven’t figured out a single press for Brightness +/- though….. :-/

thanks, will try these out soon.

I’m too interested in adding a 64 or 128 GB micro SD to avoid the m.2 ssd hazzle cause I had bought a 2280 ssd before I ordered the laptop – too big / long to fit through the back door. I have V4 – without the samsung emmc. Does anyone have experiences / advices to share?

I thought you can remove all the screws on the back to remove the entire rear of the laptop and take out the plastic part in order to fit a a 2280 SSD? Might be wrong, but give the forum a quick search. An SSD is going to be way quicker than a micro SD card, unless you spend a lot of money on one. I bought the smaller size m2 SSD from AliExpress – a Kingspec 128GB module which cost me about $40 delivered and it’s really decent ?

not sure how reliable the M.2 120 GB SSD ( Presumably Kingspec) is, so was thinking of using a micro USB till the m.2 SSD prices come down.

In the bios: Enabled toupad device (disabled by default but I think it adds a better driver)

    @james
: Please help me with this.

Touch pad froze along with windows while browsing you tube, last known change was that system was trying to install a big update, possibly creators update?

I restarted the system and everything worked except the touchpad, checked for drivers, uninstalled it and reinstalled it no go.
So I disabled the windows update service and tried rolling back updates, no go.

Wanted to just reset the laptop to stock, but after fresh/clean reset file copy / re-install it gave me a blue screen error with a QR code to Microsoft page.
Looks like i might have to do a fresh re-install.

Gutted, as its only a week old.

akx: there are these regulations inside the EU for all eu countries. If the EU regulations wouldn’t apply to all countries we would not have a EU. If you have doubts call your local customs and ask what happens to items With no CE vor search the national tax web site. Here is the regulation in german http://www.zoll.de/DE/Fachthemen/Verbote-Beschraenkungen/Schutz-der-menschlichen-Gesundheit/Produktsicherheit/marginalspalte_faq.html?nn=100394 the last paragraph describes that you can only get an item which fullfills the EU product safety policies according to the CE policies “Die Überlassung von eingeführten Waren zum zollrechtlich freien Verkehr ist nur zulässig, wenn …” Therefore ea<span style=”font-size: 16px;”>ch item / component I had mentioned above needs its own CE:</span> laptop, charger, box and certificate paper inside in national language, so a german one <span style=”font-size: 16px;”>If you have nothing your device has to be destroyed. If you get into a german customs control be prepared to say goodbye as I had to say loosing a 450€ drone.</span> And they check it very carefully before they take it away and ask for the destroying fee cause if the customs makes a mistake you would have to get a full cash compensation. You will see that they try to avoid mistakes cause the checking procedure took about 90 minutes. These is no doubt that this item is not allowed to use inside the EU and not to sell cause it fullfills not the mandatory regulation. Would I have taken my Drone with me if I had known these CE risks? No, of cause not. It is your property you will be loosing so do not complain later.

Feel sad about your Drone, but other than Germany is there any case of any device being confiscated in any other country? Spain, UK?

ort the customs is allowed to take it away and to destroy it cause it does not have CE certification and you won’t be able to deliver proper CE certificates.

I really doubt this, surely there are millions of tablets, phones and what not from china used by EU travellers that go through in and out of Airports every day? anyway CE certification is usually found on batteries, and i am sure there wont be many tablets / phones opened up. One option is to ensure that you buy an EU charger with CE certification. So less red flags.

The product does have the following certificates as per this website . Certification: CE, FCC, RoHS

But would still wait for Chris / other users to comment.

This would be a shame as i brought this laptop predominantly to carry it as a portable laptop.

I am also considering adding a 64 GB USB 3.0 Drive, something discrete like Sandisk Cruz Fit 3.0 ( for £18) it should give decent storage till M.2 2242 drives become a bit cheaper. £38 for a 128 GB Kingspec is not a bad idea, but i dont see any branded (safe?) alternate drives in the £50 category. Anybody tried this? can we let the system see it as a native drive?

Here is an M.2 2280 Samsung MZ-V6E500BW SSD 960 EVO, 500 GB, NVMe for £185

But i doubt it will work, as the connectors look different.

I also have the problem where the touchpad can’t tell the difference between zooming and scrolling. My solution was to disable pinch to zoom altogether in the windows settings. Whenever I want to zoom, i just hold down ctrl and scroll up and down to zoom instead. I took a driver dump with double driver when I got my machine for 3 weeks ago, I can upload it here.

That’s a nice workaround, will try that and see if it helps me. would really appreciate it if you could share the link for the driver dump. did you use any software to back up your driver? or just copy the files from your C drive?

Hi, no idea about the mainform, not heard about it before. Sounds like you need to tweak the touchpad in the windows settings, be it the speed or sensitivity, or deactivate a few options in the precision section. The banana keyboard is normal, mine has a slight bulge on the strip of metal below the touchpad, you can actually bend the laptop if you really want, not sure any are perfectly straight.

Ok, that’s strangely re-assuring, cannot complain for the price, but would have been good if it was looked into for future production. Bending it is an idea,  but considering that keyboard maybe delicate i am resisting misaligning it. will learn to live with it.
