So apparently the ID wire is grounded to signal no charging from the slave vcc 5volt end.
But a resistor of certain ohms will

This does not work on the X98 plus.
June 16, 2016 at 8:16 pm #41228Apparently it is possible
No, it is not.
June 7, 2016 at 7:57 pm #40218OMG! At Teclast they really suck… how the fuck is possible to brick a Windows device just by updating a driver!!!
They are serving the EFI Update for other models. Unfortunately, Teclast gave the A5C6 model the same ID as the A5C8, so Windows flashes the wrong BIOS/EFI on the A5C6
May 14, 2016 at 10:36 am #37272Yah its not like I downloaded a bios from some site and installed it. I did it through the device manager, it looked it up from the server and automatically downloaded and installed it. So Teclast put the wrong bios on their server and now anyone with a A5C6 will brick their device if they follow the standard bios update procedures. It’s kinda terrible.
Exactly the same happened to me. A5C6 As well
IF YOU HAVE THE A5C6
DO NOT TRY TO UPDATE “SYSTEM FIRMWARE” DEVICE IN WINDOWS
Windows Update will download a UEFI update (3.04) which is WRONG FOR A5C6
AND WILL BRICK YOUR TABLET.March 21, 2016 at 5:43 pm #30277In order to restore original BIOS, some questions:
- ROM file provided by vendor is unpacked? So, can I directy flash into BIOS without de-encapsulating?
- Since it would be original ROM, do I need to disable secure boot?
As a last option, using RaspBI with a logic level coverter (from 3.3 to 1.8V) seems more easy….
Some time ago I recovered my Onda v975w flashing the original image BIOS with a flash clip and the CH341 programmer with the logic converter I previously mentioned. In my case, I just loaded the .bin file from the website into the very basic programming software which came with the programmer and it worked.
I guess you have saved a dump of your EFI before flashing the modified one, haven’t you? Just flash that dump.
ENGLISH: Not only will you have to disable all secure boot things in the modified EFI but change as well these flags in the NVRAM before rebooting.

Pretty please: If you are going to write a post in your own language, post a translation into English along with your message (even from the ugly Google translator). Otherwise this forum will become a mess instead of being a nice hub for Teclast tablets.
March 21, 2016 at 10:29 am #30231With this script can’t you flash the bios?
Only replace the bios (A5C6 dual boot) by the modified
EDIT: I open my bios with AMIBCP and on Intel IGD Configuration the setting to GFX Boost is disabled.
I could try to do that but if the UEFI Secure Boot has been fully implemented, flashing a non signed EFI will brick your tablet. If the official flasher from AMI tells you that what you are trying to flash does not pass the signature check, and the EFI boot is going to do the same check at boot (stopping any execution if it fails), it doesn’t make any sense IMHO to play with it.
I would recommend (if you’re so desperate to play this risky game) disabling any secure boot flags and secure flash options in the modded EFI before flashing it. Otherwise, the EFI execution will terminate as soon as it detects it is a mod.
Summarizing: MODERN UEFI SECURE FLASH IS DESIGNED TO AVOID MODIFIED EFIs TO BE EXECUTED http://www.uefi.org/sites/default/files/resources/UEFI_Plugfest_2012Q1_v3_AMI.pdf
March 20, 2016 at 9:50 pm #30185Hi again.
I am only interested in activating the functionality of USB OTG+Charging.
I extracted my BIOS with the Afuwinx64 and loaded into AMIBCP64 (v 5.01.0014) and the only quick thing I found was that the option USB OTG was set to Auto and the following item USB VBUS is set to ON.
The help string for the USB VBUS says “VBUS should be ON in HOST mode. It should be OFF in OTG device mode. VBUS is forced to Auto mode for FFRD-PR1 since FSA mux will control it.“ So perhaps this is it the damn setting which is avoiding the charging when the USB port is working in OTG mode.
So I changed the “ON” to “Auto”, saved the modified rom… BUT as the modified rom is not signed, when I tried to flash it with AFUwin I got a Secure Flash Rom Verify Fail. I tried the parameter /GAN (suggested in some sites to override the security check) and it doesn’t work.
At this point, I could try to go with the Intel flash utilities, but playing with a locked TPM EFI could be a nightmare if something goes wrong and right now I couldn’t afford such a time consuming task.
Sorry, but I’m out until I have enough time.
March 20, 2016 at 7:17 pm #30169Friends, I have opened in the BIOS setup, and all the hidden items. Who is willing to check my work? In the BIOS, I have not changed anything, all the default left. I just tried to open access to all items in the BIOS.
Could you tell us:
1-Which is the base version of your mod? A5C6 or A5C8?
2-What was exactly what you did? How did you managed to find the conditional jump which reveals all the menus?I have a clip flasher to recover it, but I’d rather not void my warranty without certain minimum odds of success. I have an A5C6.
Thanks!
Here there is another guide to do it with the flasher clip I have (CH341A) and a logic level converter:

February 12, 2016 at 9:29 pm #25834Before purchasing i would specifically ask BangGood or whoever, to confirm that the hub will work properly with the X98 Plus Dual boot. I suspect the solution will be found elsewhere.
X98plus does NOT allow OTG charging. It has nothing to do with the cable but EFI. See the other specific threads.
February 10, 2016 at 10:31 pm #25654Thanks!
You saved me a lot of time trying to flash the Dual EFI to my Win-only X98plus for nothing.
I have several OTG+HUB+charger cables and none of them works. It seems it is a hidden EFI setting that Teclast (incomprehensibly) left disabled in this particular model.
Cheers!
February 8, 2016 at 5:06 pm #25399Bump! Please, could someone check it both in Windows and Android?
February 8, 2016 at 5:04 pm #25397Got the dual boot A5C8. Apparently different hardware can be found, like a Hynix HCG8e drive. Does it now have USB3 as well as the device manager mentions a Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Contoller ? (see screenshot)
The A5C6 has the same USB 3.0 controller.
December 31, 2015 at 4:41 pm #20737Just to make it clearer: this image is a Windows 10.0.10240. Once installed, Windows update will have to install the update to 10.0.10586
Janx, Thank you very much for uploading the image to mega.
