I would test this out myself by I noonger have this tablet, I had it for a short while because I was fixing it up for a friend. So the tablet volume keys aren’t working huh? Did you restart your tablet after you applied the fix? If the problem still persists, you can try my method and see if it works. I don’t recall the volume controls on the tablet not working.

I had headphones with a volume control on it, used this in hope that I would be able to use it, but the buttons still don’t work. It does fix the problem but Gogetas fix is better, use his instead.

Wow! This is awesome! This inspired me to look deeper and we found a solution! I found this thread on xda for a different device but it worked with this tablet.

Simply delete that line and add this instead:

    key 113 MUTE
    key 163 MEDIA_NEXT
    key 164 MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE
    key 165 MEDIA_PREVIOUS
    key 226 HEADSETHOOK WAKE
    key 231 CALL WAKE_DROPPED

    Afterwords save and restart

No more random pause/plays, you can lock the device without it automatically powering on the screen!

Awesome find Gogeta!!! Couldn’t have fixed this without your help!

And don’t worry about being off topic, this thread is meant to serve for android, that includes bugs and all. We can create a new topic for people looking for this specific fix though.

Sounds like your headphone jack is just defective. You may have to try physically working with the headphone plug, like not plugging it in all the way or plug them in and restart your device. I have one more app that you can try, look  up “HF Button Widget” and download that. I’m afraid I’m all out of suggestions. I will try and look for more solutions though. Best of luck!

That is very strange, I had the same issue as you, where youtube would constantly pause and play. After installing that app the headphones worked just fine. Maybe try closing the music or video app, change the media audio to wired headphones (or try different ones, maybe one might work), then open the app and try. If this doesn’t work then maybe you can try installing viper for android or beats audio drivers but I’m not sure that those drivers will help. If I come across a solution I’ll let you know. For now give those drivers a try. Best of luck!

Unfortunately the problem still exists in Remix OS. There is a workaround for both stock and Remix though. Download “SoundAbout” from Google play, open it, click media audio, select wired headphones, and then plug your headphones in. If you want to use speakers again, simply change it back.

So far the performance is fine, it doesn’t eat up most of the memory. There are a few bugs here and there. I forgot to mention that you need to download the latest play store apk and install it because the search function doesn’t work on the one intalled through the gapps package (don’t know why). Aslo I’ve used remix os on a different device and vpn functions wouldn’t work, not sure if its the same case here. I would probably stick with stock, just have to delete all that chinese junk. I like remix os, but like I said its a little buggy. You can flash the stock rom instead of the remix rom.

As for your second question, I honestly don’t know 😛 What you can try to do is boot up gpart, try and partition the windows partition, and extend android to that extra partition you created from windows. I’m not sure that would work but you can give it a shot since whatever you do in gpart will not be applied until you confirm it.

Have you figured it out yet? Try plugging everything in, and when you power on your tablet, keep hitting the escape key. That boots me into the bios on my onda v919 cor m and from there I can go to boot manger. Not sure its the same.

From my experience, I’ve tried installing windows 7, but when it says “loading windows” I got a blue screen saying that my bios doesn’t support it. You can, though, install windows 8.1. You need a keyboard and mouse plugged in though, witch will require a USB hub. Also you’ll need to change the bios to legacy in order for it to recognize your USB device in the boot options.
