Thats true. Vi10 would come with 2GB RAM, metal sides and 1368×768. So it can’t be Vi10 Ultimate.
Please keep us up to date when you receive your Hi10.
December 10, 2015 at 11:41 am #18107The unboxing video seems to show a screen resolution of 1280×800. The Hi10 should come with 1920×1200.
December 4, 2015 at 7:11 pm #17631For the moment there seems to be a lot of confusion on the Z8x00 Tablets:
- Banggood says they will ship the 1st batch of Chuwi Hi10 (still on presale) with 32 bit windows but a 64 bit update will be available until then and a 2nd batch with 64 bit preinstalled will be available in 2 months
- Geekbuying says they will ship the Chuwi Hi10 (still on presale) with 64 bit windows
- Banggodd moved shipment date of Teclast X98 plus from Dec 05th to “end of december” saying Taclast can’t deliver
- Geekbuying moved shipment date of Teclast X98 plus to Dec 30th too
- Banggood also stopped selling Teclast X98 pro, “sold out”
- Customers of other shops (Gearbest et al) / other tablets cancel their oders as these shops can’t provide reliable shiment days.
So either there is a general problem with the production of Z8x00 tablets or demand is in surplus of production.
December 1, 2015 at 12:29 pm #17190Laura, I agree with you on the CSM as an oldschool BIOS.
But I see “UEFI” as a standard interface that loads an OS from a GPT formated drive where 64x is mandatory and 32x (and MBR partition) is optional. If that understanding is correct “all it would take” is to deactivate the 32x module/flag/variable and (in theory) the UEFI should load the x64 Windows from a GPT formated drive presented to the UEFI.
Mikaboshi, I assume your 64x Windows was on a GPT formated drive?
December 1, 2015 at 12:05 pm #17187Mikaboshi,
Banggood also updated their statement on 32/64 bit. Quote Emily “The first batch of the Hi10 tablet comes with the 32 bits windows, but you can update the system into 64 bits. The 64-bit Windows version is availablle in 2 months.” /quote
For me it’s not clear when the update will be available. Furthermore “2 months” is when the Z8350 CPU will be available and Chuwi might update CPU and UEFI at the same time. I’ll keep you informed on Banggoods replies.
November 30, 2015 at 11:22 pm #17154Laura, its no matter of trust.
I am trying to make Banggood aware of the problem. Hopefully they trigger Chuwi to solve the teething problem(s) before product release to their customers.
Furthermore larger resellers should have product samples beforehand for test purposes.
November 30, 2015 at 11:11 pm #17151Mikaboshi, I agree with you. They sould give minimal, standard and turbo clock as well as the relating TDP/SDP. On the other hand all Z8300 specs are published by Intel.
From my point of view the 32 bit UEFI/OS topic is far closer to cheating. It is not mentioned, unexpected, in contradiction with the 4 GB RAM spec and there is no way to find out beforehand. You just fall into Chuwi’s trapp.
November 30, 2015 at 10:57 pm #17147Maryn, I am trying to trigger Emily from Banggood to do that for us.
November 30, 2015 at 10:54 pm #17146Banggood seems
a) to have a product manager (Emily Zhao) and
b) to delay the delivery/sale date week by week.
My (optimistic) hope is that Banggood/Emily is aware of Chuwi’s problems and will not sell the Hi10 before the major problems are solved by Chuwi.
If not the question and the request for further inquiry should at least draw Banggoods attention to the topic and trigger Emily to contact Chuwi. Banggood should have far better access to Chuwi than we have.
It can’t be rocket science for Chuwi to provide a UEFI for 64bit OS. Funny enough, standard UEFI is 64 bit and a 32 bit OS needs a specific UEFI module named “Compatibility Support Module” (CSM) to be loaded. Compability with 64 bit OS was one of the reasons to go from BIOS to UEFI.
Further details on UEFI and 64 bit (sorry, it is German)

November 30, 2015 at 7:51 pm #17120Banggod claims a 64 bit Windows for the Chuwi Hi10 (still on presale).
I have asked them for further inquiry.
http://forum.banggood.com/forum-topic-118095.htmlNovember 27, 2015 at 11:31 pm #16904Hi Mikaboshi,
are the ports USB 2.0 or USB 3.0? Spec says 2 full USB 3.0 ports and 1 Micro USB 2.0 port.
What’s your impression on the screen, mainly contrast and brightness? Many thanks
