Great! Can you please post a screenshot of the drives speed? This is the $90 one from Aliexpress right? My 128gb is already filling up using it as my main machine for everything but video editing and gaming.
How do I do that? Also how do I post pics here? I tried uploading a pic of the teardown but it doesnt work. Edit: It works!
I just realized that my unit doesnt have a thermal pad on the back???

The technique is to start from the volume area, and pry the top and the 2 sides… do the bottom part last. But push the connectors at the bottom of the case in so the case slides down properly.
I’m using 256gb kingspec, running windows 8.1 pro and will be updating to windows 10 tonight.

Question… I downloaded a 64bit Windows 10 ISO from microsoft… can I mount this ISO and use it to upgrade my existing Windows 8.1? Will my cd key (legit 8.1 pro) work?
Thanks!
August 20, 2015 at 5:43 pm #10133Thanks… I finally got a working Windows 8.1 Pro ISO from Microsoft… don’t use the Windows Media Creation thing on Cube i7 because the Pro selection isn’t in English, it’s in friggin chinese!
What I did was I downloaded the 64bit Windows 8.1 Pro and mounted it using daemon tools, copied the contents on my USB, booted on BIOS (im not sure which hotkey i pressed but it’s like Esc, F2, Delete) Changed the boot order to be the USB first, then performed a clean install by formatting the partition. GOODBYE!!!
I have a windows 10 ISO but i dont think it will work anymore… I havent activated my 8.1 pro using the key I bought.
I don’t have a surface pro 3 but I am going to buy a Wacom Companion 2 256 gb i7 this October in NYC and I will just give away my upgraded 256g Cube i7 Stylus to my husband.
August 7, 2015 at 7:47 am #8909I’m planning to buy a 256gb NGFF 2242 SSD for this but i am afraid i am missing a few instructions how to upgrade the ssd. If anyone’s upgrading their setup can you please make a complete step-by-step and watchouts so we dont break the lcd glass or the digitizer? also if possible make a video?
thanks
