I purchased another i9 keyboard for in a Gearbest Sale (£30 from EU warehouse!). The new keyboard also does not work, so the issue is with the tablet. I opened it up to see if there was anything obviously disconnected; but the ribbon cable connecting the mainboard to the pogo pins seems solidly connected.

Does anyone have the ability to to hook up a voltmeter to the external pogo pins while their Cube i9 or iWork 12 is on to see if they can detect 5V between two outermost pins, as suggested on XDA? https://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-10/general/cube-i9-t3342113/post66432644#post66432644

I am seeing only 0.2 Volts between the two outer most pogo connectors on the tablet. Could anyone possibly test this on their Cube i9 for me?

The external connectors on both the keyboard and tablet appear to be in good condition; I cleaned with a little bit of acetone to be sure it was not oil or other debris. I find the suggestion it may be caused by shorted connectors on the pins to be a bit odd, surely such an issue would manifest as soon as power was applied? Once I find my multimeter I will check for continuity between pins which I assume should not be present.

So I picked up a Cube i9 in the recent sale at Gearbest. I’ve removed the (two!) screen protectors and wiped the screen with a fine, soft cloth. The glass seems ‘dirty’, its very hard to photograph and explain, the definition of text and objects are fine, but large blocks of continuous color (e.g. web broswer, text editor etc) do not seem clear – it is like the glass has a fine oily film over the whole screen. Am I the only one?

It surely does not have 2 screen protectors…it’s just that the upper side of the – plastic > scratchable – screen protector is also covered with a thin film, to prevent scratching the actual protector surface before the tablet makes it to the consumer. I you have ever bought a screen protector you must have noticed that it is “protected” itself on both sides, to facilitate successful application. – the “adhesive” side is covered, of course, to safeguard its qualities – the other side is also covered to prevent scratches during the application of the screen protector (pushing with a card against it).

I didn’t buy a standalone screen protector, though I have bought them for other devices, both glass and plastic types. The cube i9 definitely shipped with two plastic covers stuck to the top of the glass. On both, one side was sticky and the other was not. If i could be bothered I’d take a photo of them side by side, but I don’t know what we’d really achieve!

I am having the same problem.. Check out this link: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Cube-i9-Tablet-Windows-10-and-Core-m3-Review.167485.0.html I wish I knew about this grainy screen before I bought it. I am really disappointed with this. Could any suggest a fix? I heard it involves removing a film at the back of the glass ..

I think grainy is probably a better description of what I’m seeing. If you hear about a fix from another source, please let me know!

Have you tried removing the patch with alcohol wipes?(it usually comes with tempered glass screen protector if you purchase any for your phone)

Its not so much a patch, it is all over the screen, really it could just be me being picky as I am looking quite close up and used to much brighter screens which I guess may hide such issues – I have a Teclast x98 plus, have had a Surface 2 (RT), Nexus 9, Nexus 7 (2012).

I will try using a pro camera to see if I can capture it.

I’ve also noticed that the enhanced bios on xda formus sets the panel colour depth to 24-bit and disables the intel backlighting control so I may try making this same settings for comparison.

Hi Chris, when downloading the bios flash  tool rar file MS Security Essentials identifies a virus – can you confirm?

When I load Throttlestop on my desktop (i5-3330), it is possible to reduce the Turbo clock multiplier/speed using the TRL button. Are you able to reduce it on the Atom chips?

Currently I cannot reduce the turbo voltage but I can increase it. I wonder if the author of the software could unlock this feature?

I guess if we were to limit the turbo multiplier (and reduce votlage) we could operate a ‘power saving’ configuration which doesn’t hit 2.2 GHz.

I don’t have an X98 pro (yet) I have the new X98 plus dual OS on order but I may change my mind if I could get the same longevity!

Are you able in any way to retain the intermediate cpu scaling states but limit the Turbo speed to something like z8300 speeds? e.g. 1.84 GHz. Perhaps reducing the Clock Modulation to less than 100 or restricting the package limit?

Hi Mirek, Thank you so much for your ROM. Your work adds a great value to the tablet which was, to my opinion, a total scam on Android without it. Battery life has become decent and the stability is quite OK now ! That said, I’d like to report you a few glitches that I’ve encountered. Maybe you can address them in a further release :

    • From time to time, I loose the wi-fi config. I have to re-enter the security key.
    • Wi-fi sensibility seems to be weaker than stock
    • Here are a few “stock glitches” that still happen (although rare):
      • Random crashes
      • Black screen when exiting from sleep mode : I press the volume button to display the lock screen but I only get a black screen. The screen is back on and it reacts to my gestures (I can hear the sound) but it’s definitely black. I have to force a reboot to keep working.

I have a K9C6. I use it for web, email, ebooks, Netflix. Basic stuff. Thanks again for your great work ! Popal

About wifi – I not touch that yet at all – is stock config .. In the next version will be more stable and more battery savings ( 20 – 30 % )

Hi Mirek, do you have any estimate about the total battery life run time under “normal” use?

Would anyone be able to say what the total battery life is with the build.prop/interactive governor/IO scheduler tweaks with respect to the initial estimates of 5h23 found under Windows 10, 40% brightness, general tasks/youtube in Techtablets X98 pro review?

I’ve preordered an X98 plus dual OS; but if the outlook is more favorable under android with the Pro, I’d certainly reconsider.
