@Vedran, what is your bios build number? I still can’t boot Windows 64-bit installation but at least I have Android now.

But like you said, it needs to be flashed by a “pro”, and I do have an SPI programmer.

Maybe you’re not using the correct bios. Do you have a singleboot Hi8 Pro?

    I managed to unbrick it.

First press Erase, then press Blank to verify the chip is empty, then load the 8MB file from the bios update zip and press Program.

Anyone got a bios dump from an SPI flasher? I finally managed to get the programmer to work but the tablet won’t turn on, there is only 1 bios for the singleboot and at least 4 for the dualboot, I tried all, no luck.

And which 64-bit bios is safe to flash on the first batch of the singleboot Hi8 Pro?

I need to use the 8MByte .rom file from the bios update zip as it is the full bios image, but what will happen to the Windows product key (MSDM) stored in the bios?

I have received my CH341a, soic8 clip a logic level converter but I didn’t know at the time I needed a 1.8v voltage reference, can I use two depleted AA batteries?

From which pins do I pull 3.3v from the CH341a?

well, I didn’t read the newer 64bit firmware for dual os was meant for S/N below 2000, mine is 4136. even if I buy a CH341a programmer where do I find the bios file for tablets with the lower serial numbers?

usb host still powers devices, I read somewhere I could try copying some files to the root directory of a flash drive, but what files?
