It does look like you have the latest drivers. However, the general page to get Chuwi software releases for the HiBook Pro is:
http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-2009-1-1.html
and the general password to get access is “en.chuwi.com”.

Regarding the HiBook Pro WiFi, make sure that in Windows:
- You have the latest driver (3008.31.401.2016, dated 4/29/2016). It is available on the Chuwi site.
- You go into the driver -> advanced tab, enable antenna diversity (why? I don’t know) and select bandwidth to be 20 MHz only.
This should help, and that’s the good news. The bad news is that on some of the later builds, Chuwi have omitted some key components of the RF / antenna chain, namely an MHF4 receptacle. This results in less-than-perfect gain on the WiFi antenna. I have this situation, and am working on an inexpensive fix. But very frankly, this is inexcusably sloppy work on Chuwi’s part. I’ll let you know once I have the fix in hand.
One thing I strongly recommend is to download the free “WiFi Analyzer” app from the Windows store and see what your signal strength is. If it is significantly less than -60 dB, you will have problems.
Good luck and stay tuned,
Willie

Thanks a bunch for including a high-resolution photo of the “guts” of your HiBook Pro. Did you ever resolve your charging problm?
Could you give us a summary of the disassembly procedure? How did you pry the case apart after removal of the 4 Torx-4 screws? I’m eager to upgrade my WiFi antenna and see if I can improve the wireless performance, and luckily your photo shows the (single) WiFi antenna, and also that there is room for another. Now, if I can just find the connections on the PCB…

Edit: I finally ran down the data sheet for the Realtek SDIO WiFi module (RTL8723BS, also known as the SM02BS Combo Module) and I’m giving up on the dual antenna idea. The reference design on which the WiFi module is almost certainly based on the one below and the datasheet really doesn’t have enough info to do dual antennae. Note that in the schematic, inductors are labelled as capacitors, etc. A bit scary…

BTW, I did an upgrade to Windows 1604, but did not do a full format.
Thanks in advance for any info. If I can get the wireless issues sorted out, this tablet will be perfect.

My situation is the same as FaiRLane’s. While the HiBook Pro is far from perfect (weak WiFi, some distortion over Bluetooth headphones for me, a few problems sorting out the HDMI port), my display is perfect and Win 10 is activated. Did you get an early (old stock) unit?
BTW, I’m sorting out the problems I have and if/when I solve them, I’ll post the solutions. Most seem to be rather shoddy driver work.
I got my HiBook Pro quite recently, say about 10 days ago. And HUGE THANKS to Chris G for all the help he has been on it, frankly more than Chuwi or their forums.

April 18, 2016 at 1:57 pm #34073A few bucks is a lot. Much of the presentation at IDF Shenzhen was about reduction of the BOM (bill of materials). I’m retired now, but I used to run a design engineering group for a major wireless semiconductor manufacturer. Every decoupling cap, and every chip, for sure, means a boatload in consumer electronics. Major product strategy could be determined by 10 cents of ASP (average sales price).
Chris, I love your site. Keep up the great work!
