I just applied this and it has done nothing? It still misses the same characters as before? I have a feeling it’s just a cheap nasty keyboard and no software change will make a difference. Guess my unit is going back to GearBest.
November 3, 2017 at 2:02 am #74323I have a feeling if the issue occurs in BIOS than it’s hardware rather than software – I could be wrong. Is there a way to use the V4’s BIOs on these machines to see if it makes a difference. Sorry im abit of a NOOB when it comes to things like updating BIOS etc.
I’ll gladly give it a try.
November 2, 2017 at 10:50 am #74294Yeah im wondering if the previous bios will resolve the issue. Would love to try it before shipping it back!
November 1, 2017 at 11:25 pm #74278Wondering if it’s possible it is a BIOS issue seeing that it’s a different bios to the earlier V4’s. Is there anyway to check?
It is a real shame because every other aspect of the laptop is great (so far!). I’d much rather find a fix than have to deal with GearBest – they’ve already asked me to send a photo of the defect TWICE – not sure how it’s something I can prove with a photo or video? I mean even if I record it they can just say im shit at typing! It really is too big of an issue for me to put up with – honestly would rather any other defect.
On a side note, has anyone has success in getting a refund from GearBest? Even if they replaced the unit I’d imagine it would have the same issue….
November 1, 2017 at 12:21 pm #74249What should we do? I mean I love everything else about this laptop but this issue is far too irritating to live with! I’ve already got in touch with GearBest for a refund however they want photo or video proof and im not sure how me typing on my laptop will prove anything.
Is there any fix for this? I would love to keep this if the issue was resolved… otherwise it’s unusable for the tasks i need it for (copy writing).
November 1, 2017 at 7:43 am #74239I am having the same keyboard issue which results in missing characters when typing. This occurs in Bios too. Very annoying. I’ve got in touch with GearBest an they want a photo or video to prove the issue. not sure how to prove it other then touch typing and recording the keystrokes.
Is there a way to resolve this without me having to go through the headache of returning it?
October 31, 2017 at 9:05 pm #74210Thank for the help guys. What do you mean by reset? As in do a fresh install of Windows 10?
I’ll get a small screw driver set this evening and have a look – otherwise i’ll see what GearBest can do. Such a shame because the rest of this little laptop is great!
