    <!–more–>

    <hr />

Unfortunatly, Dax89 don’t have Hi10, and it’s the only driver developer for our tablets… The good way can be to add money on paypal account, and gift to him a Chuwi Hi10 DualOS for working on it (and HiBook, except touchscreen it’s the same internal hardware/software). ? I’m ready to give 20€/$, there is people who want participate ?

<!–more–>I am working with him to make this driver full support hi10 the driver is on github you can add code and report, i have compiled kernel with sound patch will test it

need touchscreen firmware.bin we can find this on windows drivers called (ChpnTS_Signed)

Why? I don’t understand what this file is or what it does? A firmware file on windows can be used on Linux? If the Dax89 driver works then what is this file needed for?

Dax89 driver need icnfirmware.bin to work without this .bin the driver is useless

Hi Flashing the BIOS with bios.bin from (Tikilou) http://vavar60.online.fr/share/tablet/chuwi_hi10/bios_chuwi_Hi10-DualOS_E4D6_C106_E0511.224.7z with eeprom programmer here is the how to http://techtablets.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Recovering-a-Bricked-Chuwi-Hi12-caused-by-Corrupt-Bios.pdf

Ok, I thought a moment it was possible without opening the tablet + using the eeprom programmer… BTW Zak, were you able to proceed without damaging the tablet guts, or you can’t avoid cutting some parts like the sticky foam layer ? Could the whole Android image provided by Chuwi and copied onto a USB flashdrive be used as another bootable system with proper UEFI setup ?

Without eeprom programmer you can’t, this guy show how to open the hi10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVENVovN068

Android image provided by Chuwi and copied onto a USB flashdrive be used as another bootable system with proper UEFI setup ?  no i have already tested it and no luck the tablet gonna reboot constantly you should flash bios and after this you will be able to use android image provided by Chuwi

And yes i’m french (Mon anglais est si mauvais que ça ? ^_^ ) and i have many pseudo, bingo-crepuscule on HFR and NextInpact, Billou on Ubuntu-Fr forum.

Non, pas si mauvais ;-P I was quite sure about you having another nickname on HFR, that’s all =)

I have successfully transformed my CHUWI HI10 Q64G42160201032 single boot to DUAL BOOT mode.

Did you achieve to transform a single boot Hi10 (Win10?) into a dualboot one, by flashing the BIOS, using software only ? Could you please provide more details if that’s the case ? I recently tried myself many times to upgrade the P02A_C106.0X60D x64 BIOS to E406_C106_E.224 x64 with no success… Same 4216 serial as yours. Based on many forum posts, only hardware flash can do that.

Hi Lupo, I’m trying to replicate your configuration right now. I am installing Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa on a Sandisk USB 3 stick. I prepared the USB drive with 3 primary partitions: 500 MB ext2 for /boot ≈57 GB ext4 for / 2 GB for Swap I set up the boot loader installation on the /boot partition (see image attached) and around 80% of the installation process I get an error saying that it wasn’t possible to install the boot loader on /target/. Can you please help me getting Mint installed?

    HI

Just tell me when you get linux boot without nomodeset or when you get INTEL HD GRAPHICS

I have tride all linux distro ubuntu ubuntu gnome xfce mate unity debian arch linux …..etc etc you can’t boot without nomodeset option, the problem is not the driver for intel HD graphics the problem is the BIOS version who don’t allow linux to access to the GPU and DRM.

That isn’t true … I have purchased one of the first chuwi hi10, it boots only windblows 10 by default. I’m using it right now with Linux Mint + updated Intel beta driver (check the previous posts) and I’m NOT using the “nomodeset” option, just the opposite, I’m booting with i915.modeset=1 wich is the opposite option of the nomodeset option. When booting with the nomodeset option the screen rotation isn’t working here.

    Your serial ?

Hello Zak, thank you for your interest! I have a single boot Chuwi Hi10. If I boot from a Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 USB stick using “nomodeset” option I see Gallium 0.4 in System Details (picture attached). So I have a different setup from Tikilou, he can boot Ubuntu correctly because he has an updated Chuwi Hi10… I’m trying to install Linux Mint following Lupo’s hints: I guess I have to install Mint on a USB key with “nomodeset” option, then I need to update xserver-xorg-video-intel as Lupo explained. I’ll keep you updated!

    Hi

I have the same issue with single boot chuwi , Tikilou use dual boot chuwi with different bios version but the hardware are the same.

The only thing that we can do here is flashing BIOS chip with bios.bin from CHUWI HI10 dualboot with eeprom programmer (CH341A) CHUWI single or dual use the same BIOS CHIP W25Q64FW erase blank and write the new code and we will see if this work and i think it will,

Will try this when i receive the CH341A from ebay

Hi Lupo and Tikilou, I have a Chuwi Hi 10, same BIOS version as Tikilou’s (I checked it from the video you posted), but I can’t boot a Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 USB key (neither live or installation). I can boot a live USB session or installation session with “nomodeset” option but I can’t rotate the screen and the system is very slow, almost not usable. I tried to prepare the USB key with Rufus and Lili, same negative result. I will now try to install Linux Mint 17.3 to try the same configuration as Lupo’s one. I honestly can’t explain why Tikilou’s system is booting Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 LTS on a USB key prepared with Lili and my one is not. I think we have the same hardware, I’m also using a very similar USB SanDisk USB 3 key. I tried four different USB sticks, same negative result. Can you please give me some hint about how to proceed?

Can you please tell when you boot to linux your system info he show intel hd graphics or gallium ?

You have a single boot or dual boot CHUWI HI10 ?
