So far the best results for me is one line for the wheel and “low sensitivity”. I’ll probably cancel my order for the 3L since the trackpad is finally tolerable for me

Where did you adjust sensitivity? Because after succesfully installing this driver, I did get a synaptics tray icon, but in the settings I dont have sensitivity adjustment (I have ezbook 3 pro rev. 1). It seems a little better but scrooling is still a little jumpy in chrome (edge is a little better).

Hi Bruce, How did you do to install this drivers?¿. I try this zip but not work; stay the same “generic PS/2” driver in Devices. The only thing i suppose to be is that the controller of the touchpad are diferent betwenn ezbook 3 Pro version. I don’t know if mine is v2 or v3. Do you change any option in Bios?¿? Thanks for all.

Just press “Setup” and you will be presented with a Synaptics dialog box. I did do the bios change recommended above but I didn’t really notice any change. In fact I did all the changes recommended above except a new install of Windows. I noticed that it did improve the precision of the trackpad but did nothing to improve the two finger scrolling. The Synaptics driver significantly improves the two finger scrolling by eliminating the “herky-jerky” misdirection effect when beginning a scroll. On the down side I feel the Synaptics driver slightly reduces the precision of the trackpad (e.g. when you are trying to place the trackpad between two letters). I’m still experimenting with the trackpad settings but in general with the Synaptics driver the herky-jerky has gone away which makes the trackpad usable.

I’ve just found a working synaptics driver which fixes 2 finger scrolling completely, the link is:  http://drivers.synaptics.com/Synaptics_v19_0_19_1__C__x86-x64__Win10__Signed__MS_Win10_UXUI_PS2_SMbus.zip

Install it and away you go, it also improves accidental touches so when you’re typing and you accidentally touch the touchpad it doesn’t register as often as before, hope this helps!

I have just received my Jumper EZBOOK 3 Pro with intel dualband Wifi. After doing a fresh install of Windows 10, the precision drivers were installed automatically and they seem to work perfectly. Every feature seems to work even the 3-finger and 4-finger swyping.

Hello, is it the V4 version? Where did you buy it?!Also after doing the clean install, where did you find all the drivers? Thanks!

when you say fresh install do you mean from a clean win 10 image? or the built in recovery image?

if clean image, how do you manage activation and drivers?

Touchpad improvement report from V3 hardware (touchpad is matte just like keys and aluminium):

    • Precision Touchpad settings available, after installing aforementioned ELAN drivers (Synaptics does not work at all, no changes in dev mgr)
    • Registry tweaks still necessary, especially for the Sensitivity, Speed and Thresholds (do you have any hints?)
    • Precision still insufficient – the cursor does not move smoothly, but makes little hops, squared lines while drawing 8’s in Paint
    • Scrolling issues still persist, the page could go in opposite direction for a few lines during scrolling
    • It is still much worse than in three other laptops I use frequently

I’ll compare it with V4 within a week.

My V4 arrived today and there is a huge improvement regarding the touchpad … it work really great.
Only downside: the emmc is far slower, remarkably slower.

For example: after booting the new device you will recognice that windows update service is not working cause the service is down. You most likely will get this error message 0x80240442 in the control panel. You have to activate that particular service “windows update”.

Therefore you have to type in the win search bar “services.msc”

And then you`ll have to wait and wait while my old Jumper EZBook 3 Pro V3 is a lot faster, same for “touchpad”. There it is really noticeable slower.

If you have opened services.msc window you should change the sort order to find that windows update service you have to enable automatically.
If you then do the updates you will get also an updated TP Mousedrive 2.4.2.2. – but the date is 9/30/2015 , nothing newer.

Anyway: tremendous improvement regarding that touchpad that has even 4 finger gestures – that work.
You can identify that new model by the backdoor for the SSD slot and the new touchpad by its haptic & texture of the surface – the previous one felt flat like glas and the new one has a fine texture.

The package is different , new labels and data but still hard to identify

I like the touchpad a lot but I hate that recogniceable slower MMC – both systems without that storage hack Chris had mentioned.
Now I will add a 256 GB MCC and hope that this will be my system for the next 6 month …

I would ever flip the old one for that new one – it is worth each $ / €.

    Good luck - WOLF

Thanks for all the suggestions. Given the influence of pc channels like this one on non-asian buyers for chinese pc makers, is there any direct line of support to jumper support engineers to have them fix these half-baked touchpad and keyboard issues? Chris, what are the available channels if any besides GB? I sent an email to an address from jumper’s alleged support page googled into English, and it just bounced.

maybe jumper doesn’t care, i don’t know, or they’re “not there yet”, but i’ve seen the pictures of its ceo walking around with Nadella at events.  I’m assuming they’re into the 7 figure unit volume for this laptop series, so  even if non asia sales are minimal, if you mess up the mission-critical input capabilities of the PC in an otherwise pretty good hardware package, it becomes a real usability issue that does not have to exist.

As far as the touchpad, (my V3 with june 22 bios, no windows reinstall), i think it actually moves around ok with the basic settings, but the instability\imprecision to select anything is a problem. I’ve solved the problem for now by using one of my kensington orbit trackballs (i never use a mouse), which i also use at my desk. Its an extra piece, but its very precise and you don’t need much space for it since it doesnt need to move and have a readable surface. If sitting on a chair or couch i can still put it next to my thigh.Having said that, my last 2 laptops, a core i5 lenovo 2-in-1 from 2015 and a 2016 asus transformer flip (beautiful build but grossly underpowered atom) both had trackpad issues, although not selection related.

So my main problem is the keyboard, and the unexpected lack of end/home, pg up/down, combo keys crtl + shift + arrow that are absolutely mission critical to editing documents (i never thought to check before buying) . I tried freeware Key manager software (highly recommended), and was able to remap those functions to other keys, but it looks like the arrow keys for example, are incapable of supporting more than 2 key combos, so i remapped the 3 key combos bracket keys and others, but this is a mediocre workaround (going back and forth between these new key sequences and arrow keys) to a problem that should never have come about. The lower row of keys is either reserved and/or not usable with 3 key combos, and i don’t know enough about keyboard design to understand if this can be fixed with a bios update or not.

Some of you have created scripts, i have asked if possible to script the 3 part combo with the arrow keys, waiting for a response. I’m anticipating i may not be possible if that sequence cannot be registered in hardware.

I haven’t tested this but doing the re-install of windows 10 I feel like it increased the jumpers battery life by about 1 hour- 1:30
Please note re-installing windows 10 is completely optional, I have done this 1000 times so do this step with caution if you know what you are doing.

    • James, this is a very interesting observation. I wasn’t really interested in doing a clean install until now but do you have any measurements that led you to the idea there was a 1.5 hour battery improvement?

Touchpad in V4 is excellent and emmc storage speed is pathetic. It needs SSD and it will be the top Apollo notebook.

I have an Ezbook 3 Pro V3 with a matte touchpad. Today I have updated it to the Fall Creators version of Windows 10 (well, latest Insider, but it is likely an RTM).
After Fall Creators Update, the precision of the touchpad has finally improved!

Windows build update reverted all driver changes I made before, and applied the default ones. I have re-installed the ELAN driver posted in this thread before, just to get Precision Touchpad settings. The overall experience seems to be the same on both drivers.

The only remaining issue is now the incidental “bounce back” while scrolling with 2 fingers, but now it is much less frequent than before.

Really, now I have nothing to complain about with this touchpad. It is just OK.

    My current settings in OS:
    Cursor speed: 3
    Touchpad sensitivity: Low
    Registry settings (attached):
    MouseSensitivity:25
    MouseSpeed:10
    Thresholds:0

    No, I bought a V4!! 😉

Now have a good touchpad and a rubbish eMMC, at least i could add an SSD. Although it sounds like the recent batch has samsung eMMC, the so called V4s…

Yes, it seems to do the job better than before! I’m using the very basic one without SSD possibility… Well, it works correctly.
