Thera no instruction. It just started to work, but now it stoped. Now I can not just pair my keyborad and windows…
Typical BT keyboard requires a unique passcode (generally 6 to 8 digit) which is generated by the keyboard during the pairing mode when the code appear on the display of your PC for you to type in so the two (keyboard and PC) will pair. Unfortunately this code will change every time you push the pairing button. So using the same keyboard to pair with two different OS in a dual boot system will cause some conflict. I am having a hard time doing that without unpairing and pairing each time I switch the OS.
Some cheaper (inexpensive) BT mouse generate the same number or using the number digit like 4 or 5 zeros and I have no problem using that mouse with multiple systems but then the connection is not very reliable. That just my limited experience. I wish there is a better way.
June 6, 2016 at 7:28 am #39970Hi, For me, the keyboard have to be paired each time you change the os. The case is fit even if you take the tablet out. Hope this helps
Can you please tell me if your keyboard came with any instruction? I have noticed that the keyboard came with pre-printed function labels on the letters q, w, and e stating for Android, for Win and for iOS. Just wonder if these mean that they can initiate special mode so you don’t have to unpair and pair each time you switch the OS. I have made multiple to Teclast and Gearbest but with no answer.
June 6, 2016 at 7:10 am #39968I have no problem with each individual OS pairing with the BT devices. (be it mouse or keyboard) But I have major problem with using the same mouse and or keyboard for a dual boot system without un-pairing and pairing each time I switch OS (e,g, from android to win and from win back to Android). In lieu of using two mice and two keyboards, is there a way to pair the keyboard with both OS? Anyone has some any experiences to share?
I have noticed the BT keyboard that I bought from Teclast already has some special functions labeled on the letter q, w, and e for Android, Win and iOS. Just that there is no instructions that came with the keyboard. And multiple email messages to Teclast and Gearbest has met with no answer. Your help with this is much appreciated.
June 5, 2016 at 6:05 pm #39946Hi Pedro, I have a new Teclast X98 Plus 3G also. Follow the instructions on page 3 by Richard Steel. These worked perfect for me and I have never done anything like this before. Only thing to note: In order to get DNX mode on mine (A6C9), I had to press and hold Vol+ and Power buttons to enter BIOS, then set DNX to ON in BIOS, Save and reboot. When logo is shown with yellow text indicating DNX mode, connect to computer and run batch file on computer. Brian C. [/quote
@Mirek, @Brain
Thank you Brian for your additional note. (a big thank to Mirek naturally for all the hard work in coming up with the ROM).
You are a brave soul for doing the “flash”. I have not dare to even start. Just curious if you were able to keep the dual OS boot function. The whole reason I bought the dual boot is I want to be able to have the best of two world: Android for entertainment and windows for work.
I am so disappointed and so frustrated that when my unit came, I found out that Android 5.1 no longer have direct access to the SD card (compare with 5.0). I am not sure if this is Google’s fault: trying to force users to use Google cloud services and thereby cut off the ability to have expandable external memory via the using of SD cards.
Let me explain. I have over 300 hours of professional quality lectures and training materials from the Great Courses (total close to 85 GB) that I stored up in my 128GB ext SD in my Samsung note 3 (with android 5.0) for studying and review when I commute. The screen of Note 3 is just so small. So I decided to invest in the X98 plus with a much bigger screen. Now with Android 5.1, the Android App from Great Courses no longer work because no matter how I tried the same app in X98does not recognize the SD at all. In fact it does not even see it being there. File explorer/manager in Windows 10 and Android has no problem seeing the SD but both with very limited read and write privileges. Any idea what is the problem?
May 23, 2016 at 6:34 am #38319I just received my x98 dual boot 3G. From the Android “setting” “about” the model says is A6C9. Not sure if it is the latest model, but everything seems to work okay. I have no chance to verify if it has a voice radio or if it is strictly a tablet with 3G for internet surfing only. I have seen it being advertised as a Phablet and other time as a tablet with 3G only.
Unfortunately the Android 5.1 is still stuck with no proper way to address the SD card. However I have been able to save files into it and share between the two operating systems. On the Android side most apps still cannot directly write to the SD. Therefore it has limited capacity to take full advantage of the expandability of the SD card slot. What a shame that Google has taken away the direct access of the sd card in 5.1. It will be a hell of a machine if I have Android 5.0 in it.
May 23, 2016 at 4:14 am #38309Has anyone been able to verify if the 3G version has a voice radio built-in for making and receiving phone calls? (I don’t mean voice over IP but actually a voice radio like a full function smartphone.)
I have seen this advertised as a phablet and other times as a tablet with 3G for internet surfing. Please advise.
