Hi Dennis … long time … good news though … X98 Pro has been working well … how is yours?
I tried to install the Windows Anniversary edition but it needs 20 gb of free space and there is no way that the 33 gb that the X98 comes with is going to be able to achieve that. Any thoughts?
Did you uninstall Android and merge the partitions … is that even possible?
Hope all well with you … Dave
January 17, 2016 at 9:23 am #22690Hi Dennis … yes on battery life!! I have just ordered a power bank for when I take the tablet out … hopefully I’ll get a full day’s use from that combination!

January 17, 2016 at 8:49 am #22686Hi Gammerlord / Dennis
I upgraded the BIOS on the X98 Pro K9C6 model and it stabilised the tablet and I have had pretty good use from it for over a month now … except …. problems with Bluetooth (Dennis) … I got it working again after uninstalling all the previous installed paired devices (including headphones) … not just ‘removing device’ but going into Bluetooth properties and taking out all the associated com ports etc. Once I had done that I re-paired the speaker I wanted to use and it’s fine … so I don’t think Teclast can be blamed … I have never thought Bluetooth was that great because it never just seems to work properly all the time …. and I still don’t …. I wish there was an alternative (like wireless USB).
Best … Dave
January 14, 2016 at 1:56 pm #22323Hi Dennis
Happy New Year! How are you? I’ve had 5/6 weeks of reasonably stable X98 use plus Christmas festivities have diverted attention somewhat. I thought that I’d check in with you again as I’m having some bluetooth speaker problems … I can’t seem to find any reference to this issue so I should start a new thread but I thought I would get in touch with you in case I was doing anything stupid.
The problem is that the X98 connects with a bluetooth speaker ok but it’s very unstable – the slightest excuse and the audio starts to break up and a lot of the time it just stops altogether. Rebooting windows and then starting a playlist and not touching anything is just about the only way it stays stable. I’ve checked for any possible remedies in the wider context (ie not just X98) and the general answer is to make sure all the drivers are up to date … which brings me to the second question … do you know if there are any updates to the drivers from Teclast for the X98?
Thanks as always if you have any suggestions … best … Dave
December 3, 2015 at 12:51 pm #17418Hi Dennis … have done the BIOS update and all back working ok so that’s a relief. I was thinking yesterday that the X98 Pro is really the first tablet (at a reasonable price) to have the performance, a high res screen, a 4:3 aspect ratio plus both Windows and Android. This is a winning combination in my opinion and hopefully future versions will have improvements in every respect. There are no similar spec alternatives out there as far as I can tell – the Surface Pro 4 would be nice to have if money = no object – but even that doesn’t have Android. So I’m really hoping that things stabilise on it for a year or so. I suppose Teclast should be given a lot of credit for getting the tablet out there in the market albeit with a few teething problems!
Thanks again for your feedback and best regards … Dave
December 2, 2015 at 4:42 pm #17342Hi Dennis … looks like I spoke too soon. After a period of working well, I shut down from windows to charge it and now all that happens is that it goes to the BIOS screen and that’s it … no more option to choose which operating system to boot into. I’ve changed a few settings in the BIOS but nothing works. I’ve also left the tablet alone for a few hours but it’s still the same (on charge and off). I’ve seen elsewhere in the forum about other users having the same problem and trying things like updating the BIOS etc but I’m reluctant to do this if Banggood will not acknowledge warranty. I assume where it says in the BIOS to exit and ‘reset’ that means it loads the stored copy of Windows/Android and basically you have to start all over again. Do you think this will fix things? Again I would be worried about invalidating the warranty. What a nightmare.

November 29, 2015 at 5:52 pm #17029Hi Dennis
Once more thanks again for your reply from the 23rd November … long time … apologies … it’s been busy … so … have used teclast charger and all working fine regarding 100% battery after charging … also HDMI cable … yes – getting it plugged in a bit further did the trick! (regarding audio) … things have stabilised using the tablet … currently no surprises – it even upgraded itself to the latest Windows version 1511 without any problem! Bloody battery life but there we go.
best regards …. Dave
November 23, 2015 at 2:51 pm #16450Hi Dennis … thanks again … I wasn’t using the supplied charger so perhaps that was the problem … I’m trying it now. I’ve also discovered I’m not getting any audio through the HDMI port to a TV … I’ve searched but don’t see any reference to this particular problem on the forum … the audio settings in the control panel all appear to be correct (ie the TV is the default sound output) … but it gives an error when ‘testing’ it (plus any other sound output like an mp3 file). I know that the video driver related to sound output (Intel) also needs to be installed and working and I have updated the Intel drivers to the latest version but I can’t see what else I can do. I’m sorry for all these questions – perhaps I should start another thread as we’ve gone off-topic?
best … Dave
November 23, 2015 at 11:04 am #16434Hi Dennis … thanks again for the feedback … I did as you described and the battery went down to less than 10% without any problems. The battery monitor seems a bit erratic and when the tablet was fully charged ie 12 hours charging … the monitor read only 90%. But I guess this is not a critical issue.
Have you done the bios upgrade? I’m not getting any indication about eMMC failure (presumably there is a warning or failure?) – is the upgrade worth doing anyway?
The microphone seems very crappy but apart from that I’m beginning to be hopeful this will be a very useful tablet!
Best … Dave
November 22, 2015 at 10:46 am #16351Thanks Dennis … back up and working as per your instructions … will be doing the BIOS a bit later today … but it seems more stable now.
Thanks again … Dave
November 21, 2015 at 1:25 pm #16275Have just received my X98 Pro … battery life seemed ok so booted into Windows and after a few minutes it crashed and does not appear to have any life at all (it’s been on charge for several hours now) … I can see Windows crashing is a common problem … the power button is not doing anything …. so are there are any hardware switch combinations available to reset the tablet … and if not then how is it possible to boot into the BIOS. Sorry this is probably a very basic question so if anyone can point me to a set of instructions on TechTablets it would be really appreciated.
Thanks … Dave
November 9, 2015 at 1:26 pm #15408Thanks Chris … but I do want the 4:3 aspect ratio – I guess the X98 plus is also 4:3? Do you think that won’t have the video power I would like (I know you haven’t reviewed it yet).
