I don’t know the difference between my Chiwi Hi8 and the Chuwi Hi8 Pro but I purchased the app App2SD PRO: All in One Tool, I put in my MicroSD card and went to the Partition Tool within App2SD I made 2 partitions, 8GB as FAT32 and the rest of the 7GB or so as EXT4, and that was it.  I was then able to start moving all my games to my 16GB MicroSD.  Now I don’t fully understand the Partitioning Tool but it’s working for me this way so that’s how I’m using it.  Maybe someone else can chime in that actually knows what their doing on the Partitioning side of the MicroSD for the Chuwi.

I had typed a long explanation and lost it, can’t put in links or something?  Here’s the gist of it:  Basically Google Play Store is installing the ARM version, so go to APKMirror and search for Chrome, then search for the Android 4.1+ compatible version of Chrome for the x86 architecture.  This looks to apply to more apps too, I was having the same problem with Puffin and found the x86 version on this site also and it too worked.

Thank you for the guide.  I’ve got a question, I reinstalled Stock OS and rooted, and everything seems to work, but is it just me or is the resolution now down to 1280 x 720 after the reinstall?  I’m fine with it, infact I think my games are running a bit smoother, but just curious if the resolution changed after the reinstall or not.

Touchscreen and wifi worked fine for me after the update, my desktop was first to tell me about the update so I thought I might as well do it for the tablet too.

Edit: Still no problems on my Chuwi Hi8 tablet, seems like it runs even better to me. My desktop on the other hand is all kinds of screwed up because of this update and looks like I will need to reinstall.

I just received this battery, it’s working great but the chip on it looks cheap compared to the stock one.  I don’t know what all the little components on the small board the battery has attached are but this replacement doesn’t seem to have much of anything.  But it actually works, unlike the stock one, so I guess it doesn’t matter much.  My Chuwi Hi8 I received at the end of January kept turning off at 50-60%, I was lucky to even get 45 minutes before it turned off.  This replacement came around 60% charged and just to test it I ran Spotify on it with the same charge it came with and I got around 4 hours 15 minutes before I connected it at around 6%.  I didn’t measure the old battery but this replacement is a bit shorter.

Now one BIG problem with the seller is the complete lack of communication, I ordered the battery February 4th and received it yesterday April 4th.  The seller didn’t respond to any of my 3 messages between February and most of March until I started a dispute March 29th for a refund.  The seller literally responded the next day once I started the dispute and refused to give me the refund and gave me a link to the “tracking” number, which turned out to be an order number on this website (I linked it below), and there you can see the actual tracking number.  I messaged him again afterwards and again no response, but with the actual tracking I could see that it was actually sent and moving and received it soon after.

So it could be a 2 month wait if you’ve got the patience, and with the link above you can get the real tracking with his “tracking” (order) number.

To remove the old battery I used an old credit card.  The battery has 2 pieces of really tough double sided tape going long ways on the battery.  Just have to wiggle the credit card under it a little at a time.

Maybe, I don’t know. Mine turns off only when it is locked, never while I use it no matter how much juice is left. I didn’t notice a battery drain, when I turn it on again it seems to have the same battery percentage as when I locked it. I’ve seen that there is a replacement battery on aliexpress, so I’m thinking of giving it a try. Battery replacement

I was just looking at the same battery.  GeekBuying agreed to have my tablet returned for repairs but I just went up to the USPS post office and they said $22 shipping!!!  I replaced the battery on a 2 1/2 year old tablet, the Hyundai T7S, it went from lasting maybe 30 minutes to atleast 2 1/2 hours.  It’s not amazing upgrade but then again it was a random battery not meant for the Hyundai T7S as they stopped selling the tablet, the mAh was probably false advertising.  I’m still kind of pissed I didn’t get the Teclast I originally wanted, I feel Teclast is a bigger name so I imagine it’s better quality, but it kept getting pushed to a later date.

Mine seems to have a problem with the battery, tablet seems to turn off randomly.  It was turning off at around 45-65% but currently it’s even doing it at 85%.  While connected to the charger it will stay on indefinitely so at least with mine it seems to be a battery issue.  Maybe yours might be having the same issue?  I first noticed an issue as soon as I first turned it on really, it wouldn’t come on, I connected it to the charger and saw it was at about 50% which shouldn’t have any problems turning on.  Maybe if it were 5% it would have been understandable.  I’m currently dealing with the company I bought it from for repairs (wish I could get a replacement instead really, I really wasn’t sure on this Chuwi brand when I switched the Teclast I originally had in my order).

It’s still doing the same thing.  I bought this from GeekBuying, I was actually ordering the Teclast X80 Pro from them but they kept changing the presale date.  They changed the presale date from 11/24, 12/24, to the current 2/24, I was actually ordering the Teclast x80 Pro as a Christmas present for myself.  LOL  So the day after Christmas when the new presale date appeared instead of waiting any longer after all the delays I told them to switch the tablet to the Chuwi Hi8, so far not sure it was worth it, just bad luck I guess?  Long story but it’s been a bit of trouble dealing with them.
