provided that the auto-rotation is disabled, the latest version works well enough (with Greenify with root permissions to ensure decent idle lifetime).
Does Phoenix OS work on this tablet?
December 18, 2017 at 10:04 am #75965Here is what works: plug a usb stick with an OTG adapter in your tablet, then power-on as usual. Someone wrote that there is a hardware bug (some voltage regulator). Plugging something to give power to overcomes this problem.
Good luck.
June 9, 2017 at 8:33 am #67969It sounds like a hardware problem, maybe overheating.
May 31, 2017 at 11:26 am #67625here is a link to the rom

May 8, 2017 at 7:03 am #66659This happens from time to time on mine. It is always an app that is the culprit (e.g. Xodo). Either it does not snooze when the screen is off, it is terminated and restarted rapidly. Music has started doing that and I had to disable it (About app -> disable). When no app is active, the battery life is great: after 12 hours, my tablet have lost 2% of battery.
This tablet makes is difficult to track which app is the cause of battery drain as it does not provide all the needed information. And all in all, ARM-based tablets are much better at managing battery life. I consider this tablet as a PC with a fantastic screen and a battery.
Finally, a battery dies often dies in a specific way: as it is composed of several cells, one can see sudden drops in battery percentage, because some cells are dead.

March 2, 2017 at 1:23 pm #62920I had the same issue as you (but using HeadsetToggle does not bother me).
Now, thanks to you, I have investigated this issue. Have a look at this thread:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/motorola-droid-x/104919-x-thinks-headphones-always-plugged-2.html
Some of the tricks listed there may be useful, especially sucking the air out of the headset hole! It fixed the detection problem for me.
February 15, 2017 at 1:48 pm #62236This is what I did (a collection of several post in this long thread)
1. There is a trojan in V6 download Stubborn Trojan Killer to kill it
2. In developer options, uncheck everything. I have left usb debugging and verify apps over USB.
3. As per post https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/x98_pro_android_5-1_mirek190_v1-0-rom/page/61/#post-49068At /system/codec, hotplug script. Useless. You can remove it.
At /system/codec, gov script. Minor changes. Seed parameters are useless but could affect for some hungs. Removed.
At /system/codec, surfaceflinger script. Useless. You can remove it.4. Install greenify
5. Disable as many programs at startup as possible with TeclastBootManager.
6. Install Headset Toggle to force sound output to either headphones or speakers
7. I think it helps to force the screen orientation to portrait.Even so, the tablet is unresponsive after sleeping every other week. A very long press on the power button solves this problem. Sometimes, it is hard to make it boot again. In those cases, first make sure that the battery is charged. If it still does not boot, plug a micro usb cable, plug the cable to a usb charger but DO NOT PLUG THE CHARGER IN THE POWERSOCKET. Then you will be able to boot. The problem is due to a wrong detection of input/ouput voltage somewhere and plugging the charger in the tablet but not in the power socket decreases voltage in a suitable way at the right place.
February 9, 2017 at 8:42 pm #61944install greenify
uncheck some options in the developper options
delete two useless scripts (see pages around 55).
use Teclast boot manager to prevent as many programs from starting as possible.I get about 6 days of standby time.
February 6, 2017 at 9:59 pm #61742@angelo, did you install the drivers from intel website ? I had to do that in order to be able to flash my tablet !
February 6, 2017 at 2:57 pm #61713by the way, an error code of 0 usually means that no error has occured
February 6, 2017 at 2:56 pm #61712Two things well explained in this thread but that you have missed: install the right drivers as administrator (look for the correct version in this thread). Then in order to be able to flash the tablet, you need to have booted Android last.
February 1, 2017 at 2:39 pm #61392Of course it would help !
Mirek v6 + modifications listed in this thread (scripts, developer options, greenify) and you are all set. The only caveat is that from time to time, the screen does not come back to life. Pressing the power button for more than 11 seconds powers down the tablet.
You can also try to install the stock android rom, just to start from a clean state.
Good luck.
January 26, 2017 at 8:37 am #60955As a follow-up, I manage to have great idle battery lifetime first by using TeclastBootmanager and preventing as many programs to auto-start as possible.
Next, using Greenify seems to have made a large difference.
I still have an unresponsive tablet every 1-2 weeks, but can live with that.
October 31, 2016 at 3:58 pm #56165Indeed, one cannot flash the tablet from a virtual machine.
