Nope. Returned the Rapoo keyboard and tried another “brandless” (and cheaper) keyboard – And that worked without any problem.
October 7, 2015 at 2:14 pm #12794What keyboard you have seems to matter a great deal. Bought a Rapoo E6300 kbd, specifically designed for iPad. Paired fine in both Android and Windows, but never stayed connected for more than a few seconds after pairing – Then impossible to get to connect. Returned it, got another kbd (Linocell – probably a “store brand” – No idea who actually manufactures it) that at least on the box said it should work with Windows, Android and iPad – And it actually did. Paired it up, and it connects and works no problem at all. Has keys for switching the functionality for the different platforms, like what the Home key does, et cetera.
Rapoo customer support mumbeled something about “incompatible Bluetooth chip sets”, but as I could return it, I didn’t investigate further.
September 25, 2015 at 8:15 am #11896…as much as I (as a fundamentalist Google fan boy) hate to say this but – Why waste precious drive space on 3rd party browser, when you can use Edge or even (gasp!) IE?
September 23, 2015 at 6:38 am #11808I have no problem with my BT mouse – Just keyboard. Rapoo support (See quote below) asked me for what bluetooth chipset is in the tablet – I know it’s Realtek, but has anyone a clue to model? Haven’t been able to Google up further info on that.
What’s the information about the Bluetooth chipsets of your windows 10 tablet? The keyboard E6300 may be not compatible with your windows 10 tablet.
After yet another remove device/add device cycle, it stayed in Connected for almost a minute after pairing, before going back to Paired – However, nothing happen when I tried to use the keyboard.
In Action Center, the keyboard isn’t even listed.
It may well be that this particular keyboard wont play nice with X98/Windows (as it’s specifically for iPad) at all, but I’ve read reviews where it seems like it should work across the board. Ah, well, I guess I’ll try to return this kbd and go for some other model. As we in Sweden have a somewhat odd layout to cater for our strange umlauts, (å, ä and ö), buying keyboards from my usual sources (=China based on line retailers) isn’t an option, as US keyboards seems to be all they carry.
September 18, 2015 at 4:01 pm #11621Pretty sure your Windows partition will be gone if you go that route.
September 16, 2015 at 8:41 am #11503Perhaps I wasn’t clear – Do I share this experience with anyone else, or am I all alone with being unable to install Google Plus?
If someone else has experienced this anomaly, please feel free to come forward and share your experience, especially if you found a cure! 🙂
September 7, 2015 at 1:56 pm #11079Ah – Damned! Didn’t spot that (the difference in GPU).
…and of course, a de-bloat would have been necessary, even if some Asus specific apps really are quite good (imo), and I’ve grown accustomed to, on my Zenfone.
Well, anyway, I can see it was just a pipe dream – Back to the drawing board…
September 2, 2015 at 10:45 am #10754All I did was set ro.sf.lcd_density to 264 in /system/build.prop – Nothing else. Having some trouble tho, with Play saying that some apps (well, at least one – Google Plus!) isn’t compatible with my device… Well, it’s not harder than changing back again for those instances. I user ES File Explorer and edited the build.prop file directly in the built in text editor.
Obvioiusly, you have to be rooted to do that.
August 31, 2015 at 7:57 pm #10669Thank you – Changed to 264 and it seems to behave well. And looks better too. Cheers!
August 27, 2015 at 8:15 pm #10469Well, the factory installed Windows 10 suffers from the same problem, it seems. Got mine today, and couldn’t get past the PIN dialog. Good to see there’s a workaround at least.
August 6, 2015 at 1:53 pm #8790OK, here is the rooted, debloated and TESTED archive https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B52NEACNrGeqTFFWZFRlSVFWS0E&export=download
Sorry for a noobish q, but when it comes to Teclast tablets, I am a noob:
If I use the MFG tool to flash this, no matter what xml file I choose (I guess one ), the Windows part is kept intact, right? I just ordered the X98 3G 64GB, and I’m sure I can’t keep from updating to Lollipop right away.
I guess the keep_userdata XML wont wipe what apps I may have installed (in Android) myself, while the wipe_userdata XML basically make the Android side of things “brand new” again – but in both cases leave the Windows stuff as is?
