Very happy with mine, use it all day every day for web development. The screen makes it to be honest. I don’t actually find the keyboard too shabby either despite coding and writing on it daily – although it did really wind me up until I learnt how to disable the power button. Speed and performance both pretty good after a 4gb stand in model the 6 months prior.

Have a much more powerful desktop in the office but likewise always feel sad going back to 1080p screens – tend to work from home on this screen instead! I was deliberating between this and an XPS but in the end realised I could buy 3 of these for the price of a Dell so with lots of travel and 3 children to break stuff it still seems a good choice.

    Hello,

Did you have any trouble with Google Play after these changes? I find I can download 2 apps then Google play updates and every time I try to open I get the message ‘Google Play Store has stopped’

I briefly managed to fix it by uninstalling the Google Play updates, but then it just downloads and happens again.

My DC charger is fine, sadly it’s the power jack coming loose from the main board that seems to be the problem. Someone on here managed to fix theirs so perhaps I should open it up, but I’ve been putting it off. Shame there’s no combined DP + Charging usb dongle out there, the HDMI one works well but am limited to 30hz or a lower res with it.

Thanks, that will come in useful if I need to open it up!

For my part USB-C has more or less solved the issue, though I still intermittently have times where it refuses to charge despite everything being plugged in. I know USB-C plugs should be fine either way in, but I swear it charges more often one way round than the other. For now, unplugging each link (charger to wall, charger to cable, cable to laptop) and reinserting seems to fix it, but it is frustrating when you realise it hasn’t been charging, you’re now on 5% power and unplugging + replugging it in doesn’t seem to make a difference.

So the Anker cable and Ivoler charger work well – just don’t buy an ivoler cable!
Unfortunately on my device there must be an alignment issue between the case and the board as the usb C socket is also temperamental, though much better than the 12v jack. It’ll be ok for now but I expect i’ll need to open it at some point if it continues to be a problem. A shame to pack so much kit in a small package at a nice price, but to be let down by something so fundamental as a power connection!

    Hi Likoum,

Thanks, but it is actually a USB C – USB C cable, not a mini usb, connected to the 75w iVoler charger recommended on this forum. The mini usb was to my phone just to check the iVoler was giving a charge.

I actually misread it – the side of the charger states it will provide 5V 3A, 9V 3A, 15V 3A and 20V 3A through the Type C plug – not sure why it doesn’t say 12v.
