Your screenshot shows ROM 1.0.1v5 The ROM posted on needrom (posted on 10/23/17) is version 1.0.5v5 The newest I think. It probably won’t solve your issue, but if you have not tried it….
Haha, good one 😀
So: I installed the latest firmware from needrom (posted on 23 Oct 2017) using, as Rick suggested, this flash tool https://androidmtk.com/smart-phone-flash-tool.Now I am now running 1.0.5_v5
I still have no sound – however, Phoenix is back (!) – and so is the Google Play Services error (…)
(see screenshots)So I ordered a Lenovo tablet, I don’t have time for this nonsense.
If anyone’s interested in a free Onda V10 pro, let me know – just cover the P&P and it’s yours.

November 23, 2017 at 5:05 pm #75259I did indeed – see attached.
I just checked, seems I’m having the same issue as the 4PDA.ru poster you mentioned: sound through headphones does work, so it must be just the built-in speakers and mic.
Is the discussion in Russian? My Russian is not good enough to follow tech details… please do let me know if anything comes out of it.Thanks George!

My Onda is bricked, sound-wise.
I flashed back down then up using all available options (Chris / Rick / George), factory reset, played with the flash tool modes (download only / upgrade / format and download) – still no sound.
If anyone has any further ideas, please share them. Many thanks for the help and feedback!
Cheers
PNovember 21, 2017 at 10:39 pm #75188Thanks George – what do you mean precisely by wipe/reset or reflash? I used the exact same file Rick shared, following the instructions Chris posted earlier… Any idea what could have affected the sound (both in- and output)? It did fix the error pop up, and everything is running smoothly, but if the price to pay is a mute tablet, I’m not sure that’s an improvement…
November 21, 2017 at 6:41 pm #75173Thank you Rick. Because of your information I requested the Android Only rom from Banggood and they sent it to me as well. I can confirm it works great loading a very plain vanilla Android 6.0 and eliminating Phoenix. The firmware is version 1.0.1V5 dated August 28. All works well, as Rick states everything updates through the play store as normal, and the GPS version is 11.7.46 (variant 446). Google Home app works great, which I could not install in the Phoenix bios.
George / everyone,
Any issues with sound?
I successfully updated the firmware using the Banggood file (thanks Rick!) – but now it seems I’ve lost both sound and mic feed…
Ideas?Thanks guys.
November 20, 2017 at 5:38 pm #75126Here is the link to Mediafire. It worked for me good luck. http://www.mediafire.com/file/r85tqbd95wyv3qd/V10Pro_V3V5%E5%8D%95%E5%AE%89%E5%8D%936.0%E4%B8%AD%E6%80%A7%E5%9B%BA%E4%BB%B620170828.rar
Excellent – thanks Rick, much appreciated – and thank you to everyone on the forum for your help and feedback!
November 19, 2017 at 10:19 am #75039Hi, Banggood sent me the update file. I had a very difficult time finding and loading the USB drivers but I finally got the tablet updated. The date of the file was 9/07/2017. This update does not include Phoenix. All the Google products work now. I like the tablet but having to do so much work to get it functional is very irritating. Don’t give up it is worth the effort. Good luck Rick
Hey Rik,
Would you care to share the update file please?
Thanks,
PlamenNovember 19, 2017 at 10:17 am #75038As far as the Firmware upgrade goes. You MIGHT need to install USB Drivers. I put them on my share here. Try installing them, plugging the tablet in, and waiting for Windows to apply the drivers to the tablet (you should see the tablet in Windows Explorer). Then, disconnect. Power OFF the Onda and follow my previous Instructions.
Hi Chris –
Many thanks for the drivers, installing them did the trick!
So now I successfully upgraded to firmware 1.0.4v5 and manually updated Google Play Services to 11.0.56 (440 variant), as George advised (thanks for that George).I am still getting the Update Google Play Services pop up, which doesn’t seem to interfere with most apps (they function notwithstanding) except one: Gmail – and Gmail not functioning was exactly the reason why I sought a fix in the first place o_O
So: does any of you gentlemen have any suggestions? (other than using the web version which is my current workaround…)
Many thanks guys!
November 18, 2017 at 9:22 am #74980Thanks George –
It’s the 32Gb version. That should hardly matter though, right?
I’m going to try and find another Windows PC today.
November 15, 2017 at 4:57 pm #74892Thanks for taking the time George –
I am using the actual USB cable that came with the tablet. I do get a pop and everything. I have tried multiple times, both off and on. No luck.
The only difference is, after switching on debugging, some software failed to install upon connecting to my laptop – apparently I’m missing a driver (?!) – please see attached.Could that be it?
I seem to have tried everything except point 4, and that’s gonna be tough since I only have one computer..Thanks!

That’s what I’ve been doing: I click on Download, then connect the switched off tablet via USB, it starts charging… timeout.
I’m trying it again now.
(…)
The flash tool times out after about an hour.Suggestions?
Many thanks!
November 13, 2017 at 8:35 pm #74838PS More specifically, the download times out, see attachment.
Thanks again!

Help needed if you have a moment please.
I followed your instructions above, however I struggle to move beyond
-Once the Scatter file loads, Click the “Download” buttonAfter this step nothing happens.
I have tried connecting the tablet (both switched off and on), but no luck.
Any ideas how to trigger the actual download / data transfer?
Many thanks!
