I bought the Havit but it doesn’t charge the laptop, the customer service told me:
“Dear
Thanks for your reply
The laptop charger is QC 2.0 Charging protocol, It’s not PD Charging.
The charging function will not work well because it’s not fits.
Really sorry for that .we should show the different between QC charging and PD charging.”I have to say, I have the newest 12.5 model with the core m5 CPU and 8GB RAM. But it would really surprise me that this upgraded model uses a different charger..
I bought it of AliExpress since I live in Thailand. Have I bought a Chinese fake? I added a picture of my charger, maybe Chris can confirm if it is the same charger so I can dispute this.
Thanks

And maannn I love that 12.5 core M5 with that 8Gigs RAM !
August 5, 2017 at 7:09 am #70139Ooh and use Google translate camera function to translate Chinese to English in that setup process 😀
August 5, 2017 at 7:07 am #70138You can simply continue the windows installation in Chinese and make sure make a microsoft account and login and actually look for updates and complete the whole installation process. I just did it on my new 2017 12.5 ” Mi book Air 8GB RAM 256 SSD version.
It’s working great in English now, says Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account.
No need to purchase any shady keys from Ebay or any of that shit 😀Here’s a how to I used:

I have checked Xiaomi’s official mainland China site and it’s announced there! So it is official 🙂 But none of the sellers are carrying it yet, besides the one shared by Filn at a €100 more expensive than Xiaomi’s official price. Gearbest’s price is ridiculous indeed 😀 I’m contacting some Aliexpress sellers right now to ask when it would be available and at what price. Fanless and GPU less with 8GB RAM and more storage is what I need ^^
June 9, 2017 at 10:48 am #67974Ok, I just read a few announcements, great ! thanks for sharing Filn 🙂
June 9, 2017 at 9:55 am #67972Yeahh Gearbest’s prices are outrageous for the higher specs.
But are these higher spec devices even made by Xiaomi? I didn’t find any official announcement about this. And how trustworthy is this trading shenzen.com? And what do you think about that Intel ® Core ™ i5 processor / 7Y54 and the heat in the smaller case of the 12.5″ without active cooling? Should be better without that dedicated GPU, right? 🙂
May 17, 2017 at 3:25 pm #67092Yeah I feel the same why, if the new one is a ton more expensive and those sellers add a shit ton on top of it then I’m probably not interested either unless I can go get it in China myself or through a friend who works there. I’ll try and send my original reply in a PM.
May 17, 2017 at 3:02 pm #67090I’m looking to buy it as well and expecting an in August or whatever and I too am hoping for the first version to drop in price. I have been eyeing the price regularly on aliexpress and the 13″ has dropped from €750 to now as low as €642.50 for the next two days that it’s on sale from one seller: ( I added a link here and later for all the product pages I reference too, but my reply didn’t work cause of the links. The forum blocks them apparently. You’ll have to do an Aliexpress search for yourself 🙂 )
This is a temporary sale though which still is on for 2 days. It ships with AliExpress Standard Shipping which usually doesn’t get stopped by customs like DHL packages, the sellers also put a lower value on it if you ask for it. I expect it to keep on dropping slowly until the new ones will be here or maybe they will stop stocking them before the new ones and will run out at some point.
The Kabylake 12.5 version is already out on Aliexpress too and the price isn’t that high anymore either at some stores for € 502,92. I don’t actually need the GPU and would go for the 12.5″ if it wasn’t for the non-upgradable 4 GB of RAM
They also have the dual core i7 available. But kind of pricey at € 786 for just very marginal clock speed upgrade since both have 2 Cores and 4 Threads.
I don’t need the laptop straight away so I will wait it out and see for Xiaomi’s update in hopefully 2-3 months 😀
