Chinese Note 4 stylus? Would you mind posting a link to it?
I have a Samsung Note 4 phone and I use the stylus with my CM+ all the time. No charging needed and it just works . I get a cursor when I hover near the screen and it “writes” or “clicks” as soon as I lightly touch the screen. To my knowledge the stylus tech used in the CM+ shouldn’t ever need charging.
August 19, 2017 at 4:08 am #70769I can’t speak for the Note 5 but I’ve used the stylus from a Note 3 and a Note 4 with my CM+. I’m pretty sure the Note 5 uses the same Wacom tech so its stylus should work, too.
Kinda nice since I always have the Note 4 with me. No need to carry a separate pen for the CM+ that would probably lose in a few weeks, anyway.
June 12, 2017 at 6:05 pm #68109Transcend has a 512G SSD that I’ve been eyeing, as well. I’m still stress testing the CM+ to see if I’m going to use it heavily enough to warrant the expense.
June 12, 2017 at 5:57 pm #68108I used Intel’s update utility and it has worked well so far for me.
May 30, 2017 at 8:54 pm #67593Have you tried the Intel Driver Update Utility?

I updated my CM+ and so far it seems to be working fine. I did it hoping to stop what seemed to be wifi related hard crashes. So far so good.
May 30, 2017 at 4:04 am #67565I wish I knew for sure but my guess is no.
Have a look at the reviews. The one review that says it works with a Tab A (Samsung uses Wacom for its various S-pen enabled devices) and the review right above it that says it doesn’t work with the Note 4. The cheaper version for the 2-in-1’s is the one that doesn’t work. The more expensive one for Samsung Galaxy Note is the one would work with the CM+, I think.
Any stylus that works with Samsung Notes, Tab A or Note Pro should work. I use a Note 2 and 4 stylus on mine all the time. No frills (at all) since I have them for the phone I carry and haven’t lost them, yet, it is what I use. I ~really~ wish these tablets came with a built in holster for a stylus as they’re really easy to lose. :/
August 9, 2016 at 2:00 am #46191There is a config file for the touchscreen that fixes this. At one point I had a tempered glass protector AND a matte screen protector on it and – with the touchscreen fix – it worked fine.
It’s here on the forum somewhere. I’ll go see if I can find it.
Edit: Here ’tis: http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/downloads-not-working-someone-please-upload-touchsettings-fix/
July 20, 2016 at 11:15 pm #44041I’ve never seen a hover cursor with mine (a dual boot) but I’m going to poke at this a bit. Hover cursor is what I miss the most with this otherwise very serviceable stylus. It is accurate enough that I don’t miss it for graphics work but I do miss it for replicating mouse functions.
So far I’ve turned on all the mouse ease of access settings that worked for other devices with similar hardware but have still never seen a hover cursor.
Has anyone else ever seen a hover cursor?
July 20, 2016 at 11:04 pm #44040Might I ask that someone upload that file here or somewhere else? The download site is only giving me “save to cloud” options and I’d rather not register with that site if I don’t have to.
July 15, 2016 at 7:50 am #43541I have a tempered glass protector AND a MilitaryShield matte screen protector on top of it (one for the Surface Pro 3.) I can’t stand the feel of a stylus on glass and I spend a significant amount of time outdoors so the matte protector keeps me sane.
Between the fix for touchscreen sensitivity found elsewhere on this site and the additional tips on registry edits found here (http://thetechjournal.com/how-to/tutorial-how-to-improve-microsoft-surface-touch-responsiveness.xhtml)…
It works great. Both the touchscreen and the pen are very responsive.
July 15, 2016 at 3:23 am #43521I have several of these for various mobile devices: 128gb microsd – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T9QONOU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They aren’t fast but I tested a Lexar 128GB that I use in my phone for 4K video and it didn’t do much better, though it really isn’t that much better of a card. Maybe a higher class card would be significantly faster but I don’t have one to test that out. There are a few 200gb and even 256gb cards out now, though, so prices are coming down.
Check the stickies for help getting that sized card working in Android, too, if you plan on needing it there.
July 13, 2016 at 4:28 am #43329The GPU doesn’t have to work as hard so there is a minor amount of power saving. Its not that important on the Hi12 since it has plenty of battery power but it made a significant difference with the x98 pro’s less than impressive power handling. The performance increase is more significant, though. Worth a try if you find yourself increasing the font and object sizes or have trouble hitting smaller menu items with your fingers.
July 12, 2016 at 10:11 pm #43309Oh, I just reread Nuendo 4 – what I have not gotten to work on this or any Atom tablet is ASIO4all and the integrated soundcard. Which only means you can’t use the internal sound card with Nuendo or Cubase. Not sure why as ASIO4All did work with the Audiobox.
Not a big deal if you’re using a USB audio interface but it does rule out splitting the mic/headphone jack and using an external mic as a very low power portable setup with ASIO only DAWs.
July 12, 2016 at 10:04 pm #43308Yup, if it works in Windows 10 it should work on the Hi12. I’ve used a Presonus Audiobox USB with mine and it fired up just fine.
July 12, 2016 at 6:29 am #43220The quality and adaptability of USB power supplies varies considerably, unfortunately. Using the shortest, thickest USB cable I have my tablet, which is almost fully charged, is drawing between 9 and 10 watts measured at the wall. That’s all in line with a 2A draw.
Plugged into a USB power distributor that works really well with a variety of high drain devices Battery Bar was reading 950mW charging. I can’t measure that one any better since its hooked up to a 12v DC solar system. I’ve seen it go as high as ~1200mW charging in the USB distributor but only when the battery is fairly low. That’s around a 3A draw while the tablet is running.
